Setup

Connectivity Modes

The K87 keyboard supports three connection modes: 2.4G Wireless, Bluetooth 5.0, and Wired (USB-C).

1. 2.4G Wireless Connection

1. Locate the 2.4G wireless receiver (USB dongle) usually stored in a slot on the keyboard or in the packaging.
2. Plug the USB dongle into an available USB port on your computer.
3. Ensure the keyboard's mode switch (typically on the back or side) is set to 2.4G wireless mode.
4. The keyboard should automatically connect. If not, press Fn + R (or a designated key combination) to initiate pairing.

2. Bluetooth 5.0 Connection

1. Ensure the keyboard's mode switch is set to Bluetooth mode.
2. On your device (computer, tablet, phone), enable Bluetooth and search for new devices.
3. The keyboard will appear as "ATTACK SHARK K87" or similar. Select it to pair.
4. The K87 can connect to up to 3 Bluetooth devices. Use Fn + Q, Fn + W, or Fn + E to switch between paired devices. To pair a new device, hold Fn + Q/W/E for 3-5 seconds until the indicator light flashes, then pair on your device.

3. Wired USB-C Connection

1. Connect the coiled USB-C cable to the USB-C port on the keyboard.
2. Connect the USB-A end of the cable to an available USB port on your computer.
3. The keyboard will automatically be recognized and function in wired mode. This mode also charges the keyboard's internal battery.

Operating Instructions

Chroma RGB Backlight

The K87 keyboard features 28 RGB backlight modes, 8 monochrome backlight modes, and 20 full-color backlight options. You can customize the backlighting to your preference.

• Changing Modes: Use Fn + designated keys (refer to keyboard legends or software) to cycle through different RGB effects.

Hot-Swappable Switches

The K87 supports hot-swappable 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches, allowing you to easily change switches without soldering. This feature is ideal for customizing your typing feel.

1. Removing Keycaps: Use the included keycap puller to gently remove the desired keycap.
2. Removing Switches: Use the included switch puller to carefully grip the switch and pull it straight up.
3. Installing Switches: Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB. Gently push the switch down until it clicks into place. Ensure pins are not bent.
4. Installing Keycaps: Press the keycap firmly onto the new switch stem.

Battery Management

The K87 is equipped with a 3000mAh rechargeable battery. It features an intelligent power-saving mode to extend battery life.

• Charging: Connect the keyboard via the USB-C cable to a computer or a 5V USB power adapter. The indicator light will show charging status.
• Power Saving Mode:
  • After 2 minutes of inactivity, the backlight will turn off.
  • After 30 minutes of inactivity, the keyboard will enter sleep mode. Press any key to wake it up.
