4.1. Cetus Lite FPV Drone
The Cetus Lite drone is designed for beginners, featuring a durable PA12 frame with integrated propeller guards for enhanced safety. It includes a built-in VTX and camera for First-Person View (FPV) flying. The drone's 6-axis IMU sensor provides stable flight and emergency auto-locking in case of collision.
4.2. LiteRadio 1 Transmitter

Image: The LiteRadio 1 Transmitter with self-centering gimbals, shown in use.
The LiteRadio 1 is a compact and portable remote controller with self-centering gimbals for precise control. It supports the Frsky D8 protocol by default and can be switched to Futaba S-FHSS or Frsky LBT D16 modes. The transmitter also supports FPV simulators for practice.
4.3. VR02 FPV Goggles
The VR02 FPV Goggles provide an immersive first-person view of your flight. They feature a 4.3-inch 800x480px high-brightness LCD screen and display On-Screen Display (OSD) information, allowing you to monitor the drone's status during flight.
5. Setup
5.1. Charging Batteries
Ensure all batteries (drone and transmitter) are fully charged before first use. Use the provided USB charging cable. Refer to the battery indicators for charging status.
5.2. Binding the Drone and Transmitter
The Cetus Lite FPV Kit's remote controller defaults to the Frsky D8 protocol. To bind the drone and remote:
- Power on the drone.
- Power on the LiteRadio 1 transmitter.
- If the drone and transmitter do not bind automatically, you may need to manually initiate the binding process. Refer to the transmitter's specific instructions for binding mode.
- If your drone uses a different protocol, switch the LiteRadio 1 protocol to match (Frsky D8, Futaba S-FHSS, or Frsky LBT D16 mode) via the radio transmitter settings.
5.3. Goggles Setup
Ensure the VR02 FPV Goggles are powered on and receiving a clear video signal from the drone. If signal issues occur, try re-installing the drone's camera and re-binding the goggles to the drone.
5.4. Calibration

Before your first flight and after any significant impact, perform a calibration. The Cetus Lite supports one-press auto-calibration for accurate flight paths. Place the drone on a flat, level surface and follow the calibration procedure outlined in the quick start guide or on the BETAFPV support website.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Basic Flight Controls

The Cetus Lite is designed for ease of use, especially for beginners. The Altitude Hold feature automatically maintains the drone's height, allowing new pilots to focus on directional control. Use the transmitter's joysticks to control throttle, yaw, pitch, and roll.
6.2. Speed Modes
The drone offers 2 Speed Modes to accommodate different skill levels. Start with the slower speed mode for learning and switch to the faster mode as your confidence and skills improve.
6.3. FPV Simulator Support

The LiteRadio 1 transmitter supports various FPV simulators, including DRL, DCL, Uncrashed, and Liftoff. Practicing with a simulator before real-world flying can significantly improve your piloting skills and confidence. The LiteRadio 1 can be used for practice while charging.
7. Maintenance
- Battery Care: Properly store and charge your Lithium Polymer batteries. Avoid overcharging or completely draining them. If batteries show signs of swelling, discontinue use immediately and dispose of them safely. Swollen batteries can be a safety hazard.
- Frame Inspection: The drone's frame is made of durable PA12 material. Regularly inspect the frame for any cracks or damage, especially after crashes. While durable, severe impacts can cause wear.
- Propeller Check: Ensure propellers are free from damage and securely attached. Replace any bent or broken propellers to maintain flight stability and efficiency.
- Cleaning: Keep the drone, goggles, and transmitter clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
8. Troubleshooting
- No Video Signal in Goggles: If you experience signal issues with the VR02 FPV Goggles, try re-installing the drone's camera module and re-binding the goggles to the drone. Ensure both devices are powered on and within range.
- Drone Not Flying Straight/Calibration Issues: If the drone drifts or flies erratically, perform a calibration on a flat, level surface. Ensure no external factors like wind are affecting the drone during calibration or flight.
- Short Battery Life/Swollen Batteries: If battery life is significantly shorter than expected or if batteries appear swollen, they may be faulty or damaged. Discontinue use of swollen batteries immediately. Contact customer support for replacement options.
- Drone Frame Cracks: While the PA12 frame is durable, repeated or severe crashes can cause cracks. Inspect the frame regularly. Replacement frames may be available from BETAFPV or authorized retailers.
- Binding Issues: Ensure the LiteRadio 1 transmitter is set to the correct protocol (Frsky D8, Futaba S-FHSS, or Frsky LBT D16) matching your drone. Refer to the binding section in this manual or the transmitter's specific instructions.
