1. Introduction
This manual provides instructions for the AUTENS 50L Dehumidifying Dry Cabinet Box, model AD-50W. This cabinet is designed to maintain a stable humidity environment, protecting sensitive items such as camera lenses, electronic equipment, and other valuables from moisture, mildew, rust, and oxidation. It features digital control, energy-saving operation, and a noiseless design.
2. Safety Instructions
- Ensure the cabinet is placed on a stable, level surface.
- Do not expose the cabinet to direct sunlight, high temperatures, or heat sources.
- Keep the cabinet away from water or high humidity environments to prevent electrical hazards.
- Do not block the ventilation openings on the cabinet.
- Use only the provided power adapter.
- For initial use or after prolonged storage, operate the empty cabinet for at least 8 hours to stabilize humidity levels.
- When storing a large quantity of items or items with high moisture, allow at least 3 hours for the cabinet to reach the set humidity.
- The internal temperature is monitored but not actively controlled by the dehumidification system.
- Ensure the cabinet door seals tightly for effective dehumidification.
- Frequent opening of the door will increase internal humidity; allow time for the system to recover.
3. Product Overview
The AUTENS AD-50W dry cabinet features a wood grain design with a durable steel plate, aluminum alloy frame, and toughened glass magnetic door. It includes a digital LED display for real-time temperature and humidity monitoring, adjustable shelves, and internal LED lights.

Figure 3.1: Product Dimensions. The image displays the dry cabinet with its height (H: 605mm), width (W: 290mm), and depth (D: 320mm) clearly marked.

Figure 3.2: Product Details. This image highlights key components: two keys for the lock, a wave sponge for cushioning, the internal dehumidifying movement, adjustable feet for leveling, and a crystal shelf.
Key Features:
- Stable Humidity Control: Utilizes a microprocessor and TE Cooling for precise real-time temperature and humidity detection, initiating dehumidification when needed and stopping when the set value is reached.
- Energy Efficient & Quiet: Operates in a power-saving mode with only 10W consumption. It is noiseless, heatless, and radiation-free, making it suitable for various environments.
- High Accuracy: Maintains relative humidity levels within a range of 25% to 60% with an accuracy of ±1%RH (laboratory data).
- Durable Construction: Made from high-quality steel plate, aluminum alloy, and toughened glass.
- Adjustable Storage: Features adjustable shelves to accommodate items of various sizes.
4. Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the dry cabinet from its packaging. Inspect for any damage during transit.
- Handle Installation: The door handle is installed inside the cabinet for transport protection. Unscrew the handle from the inside and re-attach it to the outside of the door using the provided screws.
- Placement: Place the cabinet on a firm, level surface. Ensure there is adequate space around the cabinet for ventilation.
- Leveling: Adjust the adjustable feet at the bottom of the cabinet to ensure it is stable and level.
- Power Connection: Connect the power adapter to the cabinet and then plug it into a suitable power outlet.
- Initial Operation: For the first use, keep the cabinet empty and the door open for 3 to 5 hours to allow any residual moisture to dissipate. Then, close the door and allow the unit to operate for at least 8 hours to stabilize the internal humidity before storing items.
5. Operating Instructions
Digital Control Panel:
The control panel features a digital LED display showing real-time temperature and humidity. It includes buttons for setting humidity, adjusting values, and controlling the internal LED light.

Figure 5.1: Digital Display. The display shows current temperature (e.g., 83.6°F) and relative humidity (e.g., 58% RH).
Setting Humidity:
- Press the SET button to enter humidity setting mode. The humidity percentage will flash.
- Use the Up (↑) or Down (↓) buttons to adjust the desired relative humidity (RH) level between 25% and 60%.
- Press SET again to confirm your selection, or wait a few seconds for the setting to automatically save.
Controlling Internal LED Lights:
- Press the Light Bulb button (often combined with the Up arrow) to turn the internal LED lights ON or OFF. This feature helps save energy and prevents light disturbance at night.
Recommended Humidity Levels for Various Items:

Figure 5.2: Recommended Humidity Levels. This table provides guidance on optimal relative humidity (RH) levels for storing various items.
| Relative Humidity (RH%) Level | Recommended Items |
|---|---|
| 50%-60% | Books, antique documents, paper, copy, print |
| 40%-50% | Camcorders, cameras, lenses, telescopes, microscopes, endoscopes, compact discs, film negatives, film transparency/slides, microfilm, disk drives, audio and video tapes |
| 30%-40% | Mental and mental powder products, electrical equipment, semiconductors, capacitors, printed circuit boards, IC, batteries and other electronic equipment, precision measuring tools, spectrometers, optics, lenses |
| 25%-30% | Pharmaceutical raw materials, spices, powder coating, adhesives, seeds, pollen, dry flour |
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the exterior and interior surfaces with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Shelf Adjustment: The shelves can be adjusted to different heights to accommodate various items. Simply slide them out and reposition them as needed.
- Door Seal: Regularly check the magnetic door seal for any damage or gaps to ensure optimal dehumidification performance.
- Long-Term Storage: If the cabinet will not be used for an extended period, unplug it, clean it thoroughly, and store it in a dry, cool place.
7. Troubleshooting
