- Ensure proper ventilation around the device. Do not block ventilation openings.
- This device is intended for indoor use only.
3. Setup
The Hyzom Wi-Fi Repeater offers two primary setup methods: WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) and Web Browser Configuration.
3.1. Physical Installation
- Unpack the Device: Carefully remove the Wi-Fi Repeater from its packaging.
- Choose a Location: Select a central location between your main router and the area where you need improved Wi-Fi coverage. Ensure it is within the range of your existing Wi-Fi signal.
- Plug In: Plug the Wi-Fi Repeater into a standard electrical outlet. The power LED indicator should light up.

3.2. Configuration via WPS (Recommended for quick setup)
WPS allows for a quick and easy connection without needing to enter network passwords.
- Power On: Plug the Wi-Fi Repeater into an electrical outlet.
- Press WPS on Repeater: Press the WPS button on the side of the Hyzom Wi-Fi Repeater. The WPS LED indicator should start blinking.
- Press WPS on Router: Within two minutes, press the WPS button on your main Wi-Fi router.
- Wait for Connection: The repeater will automatically connect to your router. Once connected, the signal strength LEDs on the repeater will light up, indicating a successful connection.

3.3. Configuration via Web Browser (For advanced settings or if WPS fails)
- Connect to Repeater's Network: Plug in the repeater. On your computer or mobile device, connect to the repeater's default Wi-Fi network (e.g., "Hyzom_Extender" or similar, usually found on a label on the device). No password is required initially.
- Access Web Interface: Open a web browser and enter the default IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.254 or repeater.local) into the address bar. Refer to the device label or quick start guide for the exact address.
- Log In: Enter the default username and password (usually "admin" for both, or as specified on the device label).
- Select Mode: Choose either "Repeater Mode" or "AP Mode" based on your needs.
- Repeater Mode: Extends your existing Wi-Fi network. Select your main Wi-Fi network from the list, enter its password, and configure the extended network's name (SSID) and password.
- AP Mode: Transforms your wired network connection into a wireless access point. Connect an Ethernet cable from your router to the repeater's LAN port. Configure the new wireless network's name (SSID) and password.
- Apply Settings: Save the settings and wait for the repeater to restart.
- Reconnect: Reconnect your devices to the new extended or AP network.
4. Operation
Once configured, the Hyzom Wi-Fi Repeater operates automatically to provide extended wireless coverage.
4.1. LED Indicators
The LEDs on the front panel provide information about the device's status:
- Power LED: Indicates if the device is powered on.
- WPS LED: Blinks during WPS setup, solid when WPS connection is established.
- Signal Strength LEDs: Indicate the strength of the signal received from your main router. More LEDs lit means a stronger signal. Aim for at least two or three LEDs for optimal performance.
- LAN/WAN LED: Indicates activity on the Ethernet port.

4.2. Network Coverage and Performance
The repeater is designed to provide up to 7000 square feet of extended Wi-Fi coverage. Its four external high-gain antennas help to achieve 360-degree full signal coverage, reducing signal loss when passing through walls and focusing signal strength towards your devices.

4.3. Wired Connection
The repeater includes a WAN/LAN Ethernet port that supports both network output and input. This allows for a faster and more stable wired connection for devices like smart TVs, gaming consoles, or desktop computers, reducing wireless interference.

Figure 8: The Ethernet port provides options for both wired device connection and AP mode setup.
5. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Wi-Fi Repeater.
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the device. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
- Optimal Placement: Periodically check the signal strength LEDs. If the signal is weak, consider repositioning the repeater closer to your main router or in a more open area.
- Firmware Updates: Check the manufacturer's website periodically for firmware updates. Updating the firmware can improve performance, add new features, and fix bugs. Follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer for any updates.
- Restarting: If you experience network issues, try restarting the repeater by unplugging it from the power outlet for 10 seconds and then plugging it back in.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter problems with your Hyzom Wi-Fi Repeater, refer to the following common issues and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No Power / Power LED Off | Device not plugged in, power outlet faulty. | Ensure the repeater is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet. Try a different outlet. |
| Cannot connect to the extended network | Incorrect password, repeater out of range of main router, incorrect configuration. |
|
| Slow internet speed or frequent disconnections | Poor signal from main router, interference, too many connected devices. |
|
| WPS setup fails | Router does not support WPS, WPS button not pressed within time limit, WPS disabled on router. |
|
| Cannot access web management page | Incorrect IP address, device not connected to repeater's network. |
|
If problems persist, consider performing a factory reset on the repeater by pressing and holding the reset button (usually a small pinhole) for 5-10 seconds while the device is powered on. This will revert all settings to their default values.
