Setup Guide

Initial Setup

  1. Connect Coaxial Cable: Connect one end of the coaxial cable to the Cable port on the back of the CODA56 modem and the other end to a cable wall outlet.
  2. Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the Power port on the modem and then into an electrical outlet.
  3. Power On: The modem will automatically power on. Wait for the LED indicators on the front to stabilize (typically solid blue or green).
  4. Contact ISP: Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to activate the modem. You will need the MAC address and serial number, usually found on a label on the modem.

Connecting to a Router/Mesh System

The Hitron CODA56 is a modem ONLY and does NOT have built-in Wi-Fi or routing capabilities. You will need an external Wi-Fi router or mesh system to connect your wireless devices to the internet.

  1. Connect Ethernet Cable: Connect one end of the provided 2.5 Gbps Ethernet cable to the 2.5G Ethernet port on the back of the CODA56 modem.
  2. Connect to Router: Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the WAN (Internet) port on your Wi-Fi router or mesh system.
  3. Power On Router: Power on your Wi-Fi router and follow its setup instructions to establish your wireless network.

Operating Status (LED Indicators)

The LED lights on the front of the CODA56 modem provide important status information:

  • Internet (Bottom LED): Solid Green indicates the modem is online and connected to the internet. Blinking indicates data activity.
