Setup

The Genmitsu 4040-PRO CNC machine is designed for quick assembly, with most main parts pre-assembled to facilitate setup within approximately 15 minutes.

Assembly Steps:

  1. Unpack all components and verify against the packing list.
  2. Position the base frame on a stable, level surface.
  3. Attach the pre-assembled gantry and Z-axis assembly to the main frame, utilizing the simplified slot and locating pins for precise alignment.
  4. Secure all connections and ensure all screws are tightened appropriately.
  5. Install the two replaceable MDF spoilboards onto the working area. These boards are designed for easy replacement if damaged, eliminating the need to replace the entire spoilboard.
  6. Connect the control box to the machine and power supply.

Operating Instructions

Machine Overview:

The 4040-PRO features a robust steel HSS frame with 16mm steel HSS linear tubes and lead screw motion drivers on each axis, including dual Y-axis rails. The Z-axis utilizes linear rails instead of rods and T8 lead screws for enhanced stability and precision.

Control Box and Mainboard:

The upgraded control box is housed in a metal casing for dust protection and ease of maintenance. It includes essential functions such as an emergency stop button and home buttons. The mainboard is equipped with a powerful and quiet Toshiba TB6S109 driver and a 32-bit chip, offering multifunctional ports for accessories like an air assist pump and MPG (Manual Pulse Generator).

Spindle Compatibility:

The 4040-PRO supports various spindle types. It comes supplied with 42mm and 52mm spindle mounts, compatible with the original spindle, 300W spindles, and Genmitsu laser modules. Additional 65mm (B0BRZSY475) and 69mm (B0BRZSVVK3) spindle mounts are available for separate purchase, allowing for greater versatility.

Working Area:

The machine offers a generous working area of 15.7” x 15.7” x 3.1” (400mm x 400mm x 78mm), suitable for a wide range of carving and milling projects, including daily wood carving. The redesigned Z-axis carriage simplifies spindle swapping, and additional screw holes allow for higher installation of larger spindles, increasing the overfeed height.
