3. Setup
3.1 Initial Cleaning
- Before first use, wash the glass carafe, portafilter, and removable grinding chamber with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Wipe the exterior of both appliances with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main units in water.
3.2 Espresso Maker Setup (Koblenz CKM-650 EIN)
- Place the espresso maker on a stable, heat-resistant surface.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Using the Coffee Grinder (Hamilton Beach 80350R)
- Fill the removable grinding chamber with whole coffee beans or spices. Do not overfill.
- Securely place the lid on the grinding chamber.
- Plug in the grinder.
- Press and hold the power button to begin grinding. Release the button to stop. Grind until desired consistency is achieved.
- Unplug the grinder. Remove the lid and then the grinding chamber to pour out the ground contents.

4.2 Making Espresso (Koblenz CKM-650 EIN)
- Ensure the water reservoir is filled and the portafilter with ground coffee is securely attached.
- Place the glass carafe on the drip tray.
- Plug in the espresso maker and turn the power switch to the 'ON' position. The indicator light will illuminate.
- Wait for the machine to heat up (indicator light may change or turn off, refer to specific model instructions for exact timing).
- Turn the control knob to the 'Brew' position to start the espresso extraction.
- Once the desired amount of espresso (up to 4 cups or 240 ml) is brewed, turn the control knob back to the 'OFF' position.
4.3 Making Cappuccino/Steaming Milk (Koblenz CKM-650 EIN)
- After brewing espresso, ensure there is sufficient water in the reservoir.
- Fill a metal frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) up to one-third full.
- Turn the control knob to the 'Steam' position and wait for the steam wand to heat up.
- Submerge the steam wand tip just below the surface of the milk. Turn the steam knob to release steam.
- Move the pitcher up and down to create foam. Once desired foam and temperature are reached, turn off the steam knob.
- Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying.
5. Maintenance and Cleaning

- Always unplug the machine and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Remove the portafilter and discard used coffee grounds. Wash the portafilter and metal filter with warm, soapy water.
- Empty and clean the drip tray and glass carafe after each use.

- The espresso maker components are not dishwasher safe.

- Rinse the reservoir and run several cycles of fresh water through the machine to remove any descaling residue.
