5. Setup

5.1 Assembling the Clarinet

1. Apply Cork Grease: Lightly apply cork grease to all cork joints (barrel, upper joint, lower joint, bell) to facilitate smooth assembly and prevent damage.
2. Attach the Bell: Gently twist the bell onto the lower joint. Align the bell ring with the lower joint.
3. Connect Upper and Lower Joints: Hold the upper joint by its barrel end and the lower joint by its bell end. Carefully align the bridge keys (small levers that connect the two joints) and twist the upper joint onto the lower joint. Ensure the bridge keys do not bend.
4. Attach the Barrel: Twist the barrel onto the upper joint.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Holding the Clarinet

• Your left hand should be positioned above your right hand.

• Fingers should be curved and relaxed, ready to cover the tone holes and press the keys.

6.2 Embouchure Basics

6.4 Key Operation

7. Maintenance
