  1. Position the mounting bracket on the desired surface and mark the drill holes.
  2. Drill pilot holes and secure the bracket using appropriate screws (not included, depending on surface material).
  3. Attach the speaker to the bracket using the knobs on the sides, ensuring it is firmly in place.

5.3 Audio Playback

Control playback (play/pause, volume, track skip) directly from your connected Bluetooth device. Some speakers may also feature physical buttons for basic controls.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Herdio speakers, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Wipe the speaker enclosures with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the finish or internal components.
  • Water Exposure: While the speakers are waterproof (IP44 rated), prolonged submersion or exposure to high-pressure water jets is not recommended. Ensure all connections are secure to maintain water resistance.
  • Environmental Conditions: Although weather-resistant, extreme temperatures or direct, prolonged sunlight can affect performance and lifespan. If possible, position speakers in shaded areas or bring them indoors during severe weather.
  • Connections: Periodically check all wired connections for corrosion or looseness, especially in outdoor environments.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Herdio speakers, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Power:
    • Ensure the power adapter is securely plugged into both the active speaker and a working electrical outlet.
    • Check if the outlet is receiving power by testing it with another device.
  • No Sound:
    • Verify that the speakers are powered on and successfully paired via Bluetooth.
    • Increase the volume on both your connected device and the speakers.
    • Check the speaker wire connection between the active and passive speakers for correct polarity and secure fit.
    • Try playing audio from a different source device.
  • Bluetooth Disconnection/Poor Range:
    • Ensure your device is within the 65-foot operating range of the speakers.
    • Remove any obstacles (walls, large metal objects) between your device and the speakers that might interfere with the signal.
    • Try unpairing and re-pairing the speakers with your device.
    • Disable and re-enable Bluetooth on your source device.
  • Distorted Sound:
    • Reduce the volume on both the source device and the speakers.
    • Ensure the audio source is of good quality.
    • Check speaker wire connections for any loose strands or short circuits.
