4. Setup and Installation

The DV65 Entro V unit is suitable for dwelling floor areas up to 116m². It can be installed in vertical mounting positions, either on the wall or on the floor. The unit supports both left- and right-hand configurations. Ensure adequate space for maintenance and filter changes.

4.1 Unit Placement

Choose a location that is easily accessible for maintenance and where noise levels will not be an issue. The unit is supplied with hanging brackets, screws, and feet for flexible installation.

4.2 Ductwork Installation

Proper ductwork design and installation are crucial for optimal performance. Use insulated ducting to minimize heat loss/gain and condensation. The unit has interchangeability of spigots position from top to the sides for flexible duct connection.

Typical MVHR System Layout Diagram

Figure 5: Example of a typical MVHR system layout for a semi-detached house. Blue and red lines are for illustration purposes only, indicating fresh supply air and stale extract air paths respectively.

  • Connect the supply air ducts from the unit to the supply valves in habitable rooms (e.g., bedrooms, living room).
  • Connect the extract air ducts from the unit to the extract valves in wet rooms (e.g., bathrooms, kitchen, utility).
  • Ensure all connections are sealed to prevent air leakage.
  • Install external grilles for fresh air intake and stale air exhaust.

4.3 Electrical Connection

Electrical wiring should be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with all relevant national and local regulations. The unit requires a permanent mains power supply.

  • Connect the unit to the mains power supply as per the wiring diagram provided with the unit.
  • Connect the basic controller to the unit.

5. Operating Instructions

The DV65 ENTRO-V unit is designed for continuous operation to maintain optimal indoor air quality. The basic controller allows for adjustment of fan speeds and modes.

5.1 Basic Controller Functions

Refer to the controller image (Figure 4) for button layout.

  • On/Off: Press to turn the unit on or off.
  • Fan Speed Adjustment: Cycle through available fan speeds (e.g., low, medium, high) to adjust ventilation rates.
  • Boost Mode: Activate boost mode for increased ventilation, typically used during cooking or showering. The unit will return to the previous setting after a set period.
  • Filter Indicator: An indicator light will illuminate when filters require cleaning or replacement.

For detailed programming and advanced features, consult the separate controller manual if provided.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your MVHR unit. Always disconnect power before performing any maintenance.

6.1 Filter Cleaning and Replacement

The unit comes with 2x ISO ePM Coarse 55% (G4) filters as standard, with an extra supply air filter location for an optional ISO ePM1 60% (F7) filter.

  • Frequency: Check filters every 3 months, or more frequently in dusty environments. Clean or replace as indicated by the controller or visual inspection.
  • Procedure:
    1. Switch off and disconnect the unit from the mains power supply.
    2. Open the access panel on the unit.
    3. Carefully remove the dirty filters.
    4. Clean G4 filters by vacuuming or washing with warm water (allow to dry completely before re-inserting). F7 filters are typically disposable and should be replaced.
    5. Insert clean or new filters, ensuring they are correctly oriented.
    6. Close the access panel and reconnect power.

6.2 Heat Exchanger Cleaning

The heat exchanger may require cleaning periodically (e.g., annually) depending on air quality and filter maintenance. Consult a qualified technician for this procedure if unsure.

6.3 Ductwork Inspection

Periodically inspect ductwork for blockages, damage, or excessive dust accumulation. Clean as necessary to maintain airflow.
