3. Setup

Setting up your Cuifati LD-858HF phone is straightforward. No batteries are required.

  1. Connect the Handset: Plug one end of the coiled cord into the handset and the other end into the designated port on the phone base.
  2. Connect to Telephone Line: Plug one end of the telephone line cord (either US or UK standard, depending on your region) into the phone base and the other end into your wall telephone jack.
  3. Placement: The phone is designed for both desk and wall mounting. Choose a stable surface for desk placement or use the integrated mounting holes for wall installation.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Making a Call

  • Standard Dialing: Pick up the handset, wait for a dial tone, and then dial the desired phone number using the large numeric keypad.
  • Hands-Free (Speaker) Dialing: Press the SPEAKER button, wait for a dial tone, and then dial the number. You can speak and listen through the phone's built-in speaker and microphone.

4.2 Storing and Using Speed Dial Numbers (Picture Buttons)

The phone features 9 speed dial buttons, including an SOS button, where you can store frequently called numbers. You can also insert pictures of your contacts into these buttons for easy visual identification.

To Store a Number:

  1. Pick up the handset.
  2. Press the STORE button.
  3. Enter the phone number you wish to save using the numeric keypad.
  4. Press the STORE button again.
  5. Press one of the 9 picture buttons (or the SOS button) where you want to save the number.
  6. Place the handset back on the cradle. The number is now stored.

To Use a Stored Number:

  • Pick up the handset, then simply press the desired picture button. The phone will automatically dial the stored number.
  • For hands-free calling, press the SPEAKER button, then press the desired picture button.

4.3 Adjusting Volume

The phone offers adjustable volume settings for both the ringer and the handset.

  • Ringer Volume: On the side or back of the phone, locate the RINGER switch. You can set it to OFF, LO (Low), or HI (High).
  • Handset Volume: On the side or back of the phone, locate the HANDSET VOLUME switch. You can set it to VHI (Very High), HI (High), or MED (Medium).

4.4 Other Functions

  • MUTE: Press the MUTE button during a call to temporarily silence your microphone. The other party will not hear you, but you can still hear them. Press again to unmute.
  • REDIAL: Press the REDIAL button to automatically redial the last number called.
  • FLASH: Used for certain telephone network features like call waiting or transferring calls. Consult your telephone service provider for specific usage.
