6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Automatic Mode (Motion and Light Sensing)

The JXTZ Motion Sensor Night Light operates automatically based on ambient light and motion detection. It features a 3-position switch for 'Auto', 'On', and 'Off' modes.

  • Auto Mode: In this mode, the night light will only activate when it detects motion in a dark environment. It will automatically turn off after approximately 20 seconds of no activity. The motion sensor has a detection range of 3-5 meters (10-16 feet) and a 120-degree detection angle.
  • On Mode: The light will remain continuously on, regardless of ambient light or motion.
  • Off Mode: The light will remain off.

7. Maintenance

7.1. Battery Replacement

When the light output diminishes or the device stops responding to motion, it is time to replace the batteries. Follow the steps in Section 5.1 to replace the 3 AAA batteries. Always use fresh, high-quality batteries for optimal performance.

7.2. Cleaning

To clean the night light, gently wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or immerse the device in water.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Light does not turn on:
    • Check if the batteries are installed correctly and are not depleted. Replace if necessary.
    • Ensure the switch is set to 'Auto' or 'On'.
    • Verify that the ambient light is dark enough for the light sensor to activate (in 'Auto' mode).
    • Confirm there is motion within the detection range of the sensor.
  • Light does not turn off:
    • Ensure the switch is not set to 'On' mode.
    • Check for continuous motion in the sensor's detection area.
    • Ensure there is no strong light source directly hitting the light sensor, which might interfere with its operation.
  • Motion sensor is not sensitive:
    • Ensure the sensor is not obstructed.
    • Check battery levels; low batteries can affect sensor performance.
    • Consider repositioning the light to optimize the detection angle and range.
