1. Introduction

2. Safety Information

• Always ensure the gate is securely locked when in use.
• Do not allow children to play with or climb on the gate.
• Regularly check all components for wear, damage, or loose parts. Discontinue use if any damage is found.
• Install the gate according to the instructions provided to ensure maximum safety.

4. Setup and Installation

The COMOMY Retractable Baby Gate is designed for easy installation. Follow these steps carefully for secure mounting.

1. Choose Location: Select a suitable doorway, hallway, or stair opening. The gate can extend up to 71 inches wide and is 33 inches tall.
2. Prepare Main Unit: Insert the bracket into the main gate unit.
3. Positioning: Peel the backing from the H-shaped positioning sticker and attach it to the wall where the main gate will be fixed. This helps mark drill points accurately.
4. Fix Main Gate: Align the main gate unit with the positioning sticker. Mark and drill holes as indicated by the sticker.
5. Mount Gate: Securely screw the main gate unit to the wall using the appropriate screws (expansion for drywall/masonry, installation for wood).
6. Position Latch Hooks: Extend the mesh across the opening to the desired width. Position the latch hooks on the opposite wall, ensuring the mesh is taut. Mark the drill points for the hooks.
7. Drill Holes for Hooks: Drill holes at the marked positions for the latch hooks.
8. Secure Hooks: Securely screw the latch hooks to the wall.
9. Install Floor Hooks (Optional but Recommended): For added security, especially with pets or active children, install the two floor hooks near the bottom of the gate on both sides. These prevent crawling underneath.

Adjustable Mounting

The main gate unit features adjustable mounting points to avoid baseboards, allowing for a more stable and flush installation.

5. Operating Instructions

The COMOMY Retractable Baby Gate is designed for convenient one-handed operation.

Locking and Unlocking

The gate features a clear red/green indicator for its lock status and a hidden child lock for enhanced security.

• To Unlock: Push down the button on the top of the main unit. The indicator will turn green, signifying it's unlocked and the mesh can be extended.
• To Extend: Gently pull the handle of the mesh unit across the opening and hook it into the latch hooks on the opposite side.
• To Lock: Once the mesh is extended and hooked, push the button on the top of the main unit. The indicator will turn red, signifying the gate is securely locked and cannot be retracted or pulled open.
• To Retract: Push down the button to unlock (green indicator), then gently guide the mesh back into the main unit. The noiseless retractable design ensures smooth and quiet operation.

Space Saving Design

When not in use, the gate retracts completely, leaving no tripping hazard and saving space.

6. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the mesh and plastic components with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
• Inspection: Periodically inspect all mounting hardware and the mesh for any signs of wear, damage, or loosening. Tighten screws as needed.
• Mesh Care: The mesh is designed to be unbreakable and scratch-resistant. Avoid sharp objects that could cut or tear the mesh.

7. Troubleshooting

• Gate feels flimsy at the top: Ensure the mesh is pulled taut before locking. Use the tension adjustment dial on the main unit to increase tension if needed.
• Dogs/Pets crawling underneath: Ensure the gate is installed as close to the floor as possible. Utilize the included floor hooks for additional anchoring to prevent pets from pushing under.
• Gate not retracting smoothly: Check for any obstructions in the retraction mechanism. Ensure the mesh is clean and free of debris.
• Locking mechanism not engaging: Verify that the mesh is fully extended and properly hooked into the latch on the opposite side. Ensure the child lock button is fully depressed before attempting to lock.
