Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the Studebaker Workstation HiFi Music System. This versatile unit combines a Bluetooth-enabled music system, FM radio, CD player, and Qi wireless charging station. This manual provides detailed instructions for setup, operation, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your device.

Setup

Unpacking and Placement

Carefully remove the unit from its packaging. Place the Workstation on a stable, flat surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive dust or moisture. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.

Power Connection

Connect the supplied AC adapter to the DC 12V 6A input jack on the rear of the unit. Plug the AC adapter into a standard wall outlet (AC 120V ~ 60Hz). The unit will enter standby mode, and the display will illuminate.

Battery Installation (Remote Control)

The remote control requires 2 AAA batteries (not included). Open the battery compartment on the back of the remote control, insert the batteries according to the polarity indicators (+/-), and close the compartment securely.

FM Antenna Connection

For optimal FM radio reception, fully extend the FM wire antenna located at the rear of the unit. Adjust its position for the best signal quality.

Initial Time Setting

Upon first power-up or after a power outage, the clock display may flash. Refer to the "Operating the Clock and Alarm" section for detailed instructions on setting the current time.

Operating Instructions

General Controls Overview

The Studebaker Workstation features an intuitive control panel on the top of the unit and a full-function remote control. Key buttons include Power, Source, Snooze/Sleep, Dimmer/Night Light, Open/Close (for CD tray), Bluetooth pairing, Volume, Tuning, and EQ/Scan.

CD Player Operation

The unit features a tray-loading CD player. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button on the unit or remote to open the CD tray. Place a CD with the label side facing up. Press OPEN/CLOSE again to close the tray. The unit will automatically begin playing the CD. Use the TUNE +/- buttons to skip tracks and VOLUME +/- to adjust playback volume.

FM Radio Operation

Press the SOURCE button repeatedly until "FM" appears on the display. Use the TUNE +/- buttons to manually tune to a station. Press and hold EQ/SCAN to auto-scan for available stations. You can save your favorite stations using the MEM- and MEM+ buttons on the remote.

Note: For best reception, adjust the position of the FM wire antenna.

Bluetooth Operation (Receive)

Press the SOURCE button until "BT" appears on the display. The unit will enter pairing mode, indicated by a flashing Bluetooth icon. On your mobile device, enable Bluetooth and select "Studebaker SB5050" from the list of available devices. Once paired, you can stream audio wirelessly to the Workstation. The unit supports Bluetooth 5.0 and allows answering phone calls via Bluetooth.

The unit also features Bluetooth Auto Time Set, which can automatically synchronize the clock with your paired device.

Bluetooth Operation (Transmit)

The Workstation can transmit audio to wireless headphones or earbuds. While playing audio from CD, FM, or AUX, press the BT OUT button on the remote control. The unit will search for nearby Bluetooth audio devices. Ensure your headphones/earbuds are in pairing mode. Once connected, audio will play through your wireless device.

Qi Wireless Charging

The Workstation features two 15W Qi power transmission charging pads and a dedicated Smart Watch charger. Place your Qi-compatible smartphone or smartwatch directly onto the charging pad. Ensure the device is centered on the pad for optimal charging. A charging indicator will appear on your device's screen.

USB Charging

A USB port (5V 2.1A) is located on the rear of the unit for convenient charging of other USB-powered devices. Connect your device's USB charging cable to this port.

Operating the Clock and Alarm

The unit features a dual alarm clock. Use the CLK SET/MEM/PROG button on the remote to enter clock setting mode. Follow the on-screen prompts to set the time. For alarm settings, use the AL1 M- and AL2 M+ buttons to configure two independent alarms.

Audio Equalizer (EQ)

The Workstation offers 4 different music EQs to customize your listening experience. Press the EQ/SCAN button on the unit or remote to cycle through the available equalizer presets (e.g., Pop, Jazz, Rock, Classic, Flat).

Auxiliary Input

Connect external audio devices (e.g., MP3 players, older smartphones) to the AUX IN jack on the rear of the unit using a 3.5mm audio cable (not included). Press the SOURCE button until "AUX" appears on the display to switch to auxiliary input mode.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Unit

Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn stains, use a slightly damp cloth. The cabinet is designed to be grease resistant. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents as they may damage the finish.

CD Player Care

To ensure proper CD playback, keep the CD tray clean and free of dust. Handle CDs by their edges to avoid fingerprints and scratches. If the CD player experiences issues, try cleaning the lens with a specialized CD lens cleaner disc.
