BIOS Configuration (Intel XMP 3.0)
To achieve the rated overclock speed of 7200MT/s, you must enable the Intel XMP 3.0 profile in your motherboard's BIOS. The memory kit will boot at the SPD speed at default BIOS settings.
- Power on your computer and enter the BIOS/UEFI setup (usually by pressing DEL or F2 during boot).
- Navigate to the 'Overclocking', 'AI Tweaker', or 'Advanced Memory Settings' section.
- Locate the XMP (Extreme Memory Profile) setting and enable it. Select the appropriate XMP 3.0 profile (e.g., Profile 1).
- Save changes and exit the BIOS. Your system will restart with the new memory settings.

Maintenance
Cleaning
To maintain optimal performance and appearance, periodically clean your memory modules. Ensure your system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
- Use a can of compressed air to gently remove dust from the heatspreaders and surrounding components.
- For stubborn smudges, lightly dampen a microfiber cloth with isopropyl alcohol and gently wipe the heatspreaders. Avoid touching the gold contacts.
Storage
If storing memory modules outside of your system, keep them in an anti-static bag or the original packaging to protect them from electrostatic discharge and physical damage.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| System fails to POST or boot after RAM installation. | Incorrect installation, incompatible hardware, or XMP not enabled/stable. | Ensure modules are fully seated in the correct DIMM slots. Check motherboard QVL for compatibility. Reset BIOS to default settings, then re-enable XMP. |
| Memory not running at advertised speed (e.g., 7200MT/s). | XMP profile not enabled or incorrect profile selected. | Enter BIOS and enable Intel XMP 3.0. Select the correct XMP profile. Ensure your CPU and motherboard support the rated speed. |
| System instability or crashes. | Overclocking instability, mixed memory kits, or faulty module. | Disable XMP and test stability at default speeds. Do not mix memory kits from different sets. Test modules individually to identify a faulty one. |
| RGB lighting not working or incorrect. | Software issue or connection problem. | Ensure G.SKILL or motherboard RGB software is installed and updated. Check RGB header connections on the motherboard. |
Important Note: Memory kits are sold in matched kits that are designed to run together as a set. Mixing memory kits will result in stability issues or system failure.
