2. Key Features

  • Durable Construction: Features an anti-shock and anti-UV plastic resin structure.
  • Compact Size: Nominal diameter of 100 mm.
  • Efficient Heat Exchange: Equipped with a ceramic hexagonal cell heat exchanger, offering high heat exchange efficiency of up to 90% at minimum air flow.
  • Variable Speed Motor: High-performance EC motor ventilator with five operating speeds for optimized performance, noise reduction, and energy consumption.
  • Integrated Controls: On/Off controls are located on the unit for adjusting operating modes and fan speeds.
  • Dual Filtration System: Includes two air filters: an IsoCoarse 65% filter and a coarser pre-filter for powders. Both are easily removable for washing.
  • Filter Warning: A saturated filter warning light is visible behind the front cover, indicating when filter maintenance is required.
  • Easy Access: Mechanical quick-release closure system integrated into the chassis.
  • Flexible Installation: External rubber grille can be installed from the outside using dowels or inserted from the inside through the wall hole, eliminating the need for external scaffolding.
  • Insect Protection: An insect net can be inserted into the duct from inside the room.
  • Sensor Compatibility: Supports remote C-TEMP and C-HCS sensors for automatic management of operating logics.

3. Setup

Installation of the Vortice 12434 VORT HRW 30 MONO EVO should be performed by a qualified technician in accordance with local building codes and electrical regulations. Ensure the chosen location allows for proper airflow and access for maintenance.

3.1 Wall Preparation

  • Drill a circular hole of 100 mm diameter through the wall at the desired installation height.
  • Ensure the hole is clear of obstructions and debris.

3.2 Unit Installation

  • Insert the cylindrical duct section of the unit into the prepared wall opening.
  • Secure the external rubber grille. This can be done from the outside using dowels or by inserting it from the inside through the wall hole.
  • Connect the electrical wiring according to the provided wiring diagram (not included in this manual, refer to product packaging or manufacturer's website). The unit operates on 220 Volts.
  • Attach the indoor fascia to the main unit, ensuring the mechanical quick-release closure system engages properly.
  • Install the insect net into the duct from the inside of the room.

4. Operating Modes

The Vortice 12434 VORT HRW 30 MONO EVO offers three distinct operating modes, selectable via the on-board controls:

  • Continuous Ventilation with Heat Recovery: In this mode, the unit cyclically extracts stale air from the room and introduces fresh air, recovering thermal energy from the outgoing air and transferring it to the incoming air via the heat exchanger. This mode is ideal for maintaining consistent indoor air quality and energy efficiency.
  • Ventilation in Air Extraction Only: This mode focuses solely on removing stale air from the environment without introducing fresh air. It is suitable for situations where rapid extraction of odors or pollutants is needed.
  • Ventilation in Air Intake Only: In this mode, the unit primarily introduces renewal air into the environment. This can be useful for positive pressure ventilation or specific air supply requirements.

The fan speed can also be adjusted through the on-board controls, offering five different settings to balance performance, noise, and energy consumption.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the optimal performance and longevity of your Vortice heat recoverer. The primary maintenance task involves cleaning the air filters.

5.1 Filter Cleaning

  • Warning Light: The unit is equipped with a saturated filter warning light located behind the front cover. When this light illuminates, it indicates that the filters require cleaning.
  • Accessing Filters: Gently open the front cover of the unit. The mechanical quick-release closure system allows for easy access.
  • Removing Filters: Carefully remove both the IsoCoarse 65% filter and the coarser pre-filter.
  • Washing Filters: Wash the filters under running water. Use a mild detergent if necessary for heavily soiled filters. Ensure all dirt and debris are removed.
  • Drying Filters: Allow the filters to air dry completely before reinstallation. Do not use heat to dry them, as this may damage the filter material.
  • Reinstallation: Once dry, reinsert the filters into their respective positions. Close the front cover, ensuring it clicks securely into place.

It is recommended to check and clean the filters regularly, even if the warning light has not yet activated, especially in dusty environments.

6. Troubleshooting

This section provides basic troubleshooting steps for common issues. For more complex problems, contact a qualified service technician.

6.1 Unit Not Operating

  • Power Supply: Check if the unit is properly connected to the power supply and if the circuit breaker is not tripped.
  • On/Off Switch: Ensure the unit's on/off controls are set to the 'On' position.

6.2 Reduced Airflow

  • Clogged Filters: Check the air filters. If the saturated filter warning light is on, or if the filters appear dirty, clean them as described in the Maintenance section.
  • Obstructions: Inspect the external grille and internal duct for any obstructions (e.g., leaves, debris, insect nests) that might be blocking airflow.
  • Fan Speed: Ensure the fan speed is set to an appropriate level for the desired airflow.

6.3 Unusual Noise

  • Loose Components: Check if the front cover or any internal components are loose.
  • Obstructions: Ensure there are no foreign objects in contact with the fan blades.
