3. Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to set up your Minisopuru DS808 docking station.
3.1 Driver Installation (Essential for Display Functionality)
The DisplayLink driver is mandatory for the docking station's display outputs to function correctly. This is especially crucial for MacBook M1/M2/M3/M4 users to overcome native display limitations.
- Visit the official DisplayLink website (synaptics.com).
- Navigate to the 'Products' section and select 'DisplayLink Graphic'.
- Choose your operating system (Windows, macOS, Chrome OS, Ubuntu, Android) and download the appropriate driver.
- Install the driver following the on-screen prompts.
- For macOS users: After installation, go to 'System Settings' > 'Privacy & Security' > 'Screen Recording' and allow 'DisplayLink Manager' to join. This permission is required for normal display functionality.

3.2 Connecting the Docking Station
- Power Connection: Connect the included 36W DC power adapter to the 'DC IN 12V 3A' port on the docking station. The docking station requires external power to operate.
- Host Connection: Use the provided USB-C cable to connect the 'To Host' port on the docking station to your laptop's USB-C port (Thunderbolt 5/4/3, USB4, or full-featured USB-C). If your laptop only has a USB-A port, use a USB-A to USB-C adapter (not included) to connect to the 'To Host' port.
- Monitor Connection: Connect your external monitors to the HDMI and/or DisplayPort outputs on the docking station using appropriate cables.
- Peripherals: Connect your keyboard, mouse, Ethernet cable, and other USB devices to the available ports on the docking station.
- Laptop Charging (Optional): If your laptop supports USB-C Power Delivery, connect your laptop's original power adapter to the 'PD 100W' USB-C port on the docking station to charge your laptop. The docking station's own power adapter does not charge the laptop.

4. Operating Instructions
Once connected and drivers are installed, you can configure your display settings and utilize the various ports.
4.1 Display Modes
The docking station supports both mirror and extended display modes for Windows and macOS.

Triple Display (USB-C Host Connection)
When connected to a laptop with a Thunderbolt 3/4/5, USB4, or full-featured USB-C port, the docking station can achieve three different displays:
- Display 1 (HDMI): Up to 4K@60Hz (requires DP1.4 source from laptop, otherwise 4K@30Hz).
- Display 2 (DisplayPort): Up to 4K@60Hz.
- Display 3 (HDMI or DisplayPort): Up to 4K@60Hz (only one of these two ports can be used at a time).

Figure 4.2: Triple Display resolution parameters when connected via USB-C full-function port.
Dual Display (USB-A Host Connection)
When the docking station's host port is connected to a laptop's USB-A port, the following display configurations are possible:
- Display 1 (HDMI): Not functional.
- Display 2 (DisplayPort): Up to 4K@60Hz.
- Display 3 (HDMI or DisplayPort): Up to 4K@60Hz (only one of these two ports can be used at a time).
Note: When using a USB-A host connection, the HDMI (Display 1) port and the USB-C PD charging port will not function.

4.2 Data Transfer and Charging
The docking station provides various USB ports for data transfer and charging:
- USB-A 3.2 Gen1 & USB-C 3.2 Gen1: These ports support data transfer speeds of up to 5Gbps, allowing for quick transfer of large files.
- USB-A 2.0 Ports: These ports are suitable for connecting peripherals like keyboards and mice. They also provide 7.5W (5V/1.5A) power for charging small devices like smartphones.

5. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Minisopuru DS808 docking station, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Keep the device in a clean, dry environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Avoid exposing the docking station to water or other liquids.
- Clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Ensure proper ventilation around the device to prevent overheating.
- Disconnect the power adapter when the device is not in use for extended periods.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your docking station, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
6.1 Display Issues
- No display output:
- Ensure the 36W DC power adapter is connected to the docking station. The dock will not function without it.
- Verify that the DisplayLink driver is correctly installed and updated for your operating system. For macOS, confirm 'DisplayLink Manager' has 'Screen Recording' permission in Privacy & Security settings.
- Check all cable connections (USB-C to host, HDMI/DP to monitors) are secure.
- Test with different display cables or monitors if possible.
- Only one monitor detected (MacBook M1/M2/M3/M4):
- Ensure the DisplayLink driver is installed and configured correctly. The DisplayLink technology is specifically designed to bypass the native single external display limitation of these MacBooks.
- Verify that the 'DisplayLink Manager' application is running and has the necessary permissions.
- HDMI (Display 1) or USB-C PD not working:
- This typically occurs when the docking station is connected to a laptop via a USB-A port (using an adapter). The HDMI (Display 1) and USB-C PD ports require a full-featured USB-C host connection to function.
- Intermittent display issues or glitches:
- Ensure your operating system is up-to-date.
- Download the latest DisplayLink drivers directly from the Synaptics website. Sometimes, drivers provided on a USB key might be outdated.
- If the computer goes to sleep and monitors do not reactivate, try unplugging and replugging the host cable, or restarting the computer.
6.2 Power and Charging Issues
- Docking station not powering on:
- Confirm the 36W DC power adapter is securely connected to the dock and plugged into a working power outlet.
- Laptop not charging via USB-C PD:
- Ensure your laptop's original power adapter is connected to the 'PD 100W' USB-C port on the docking station. The dock's own power supply is only for the dock itself.
- Verify your laptop supports USB-C Power Delivery.
6.3 General Connectivity Issues
- USB devices not recognized:
- Try connecting the USB device to a different port on the docking station.
- Ensure the docking station is properly powered.
- Ethernet connection unstable:
- Check the Ethernet cable connection to both the dock and your router/modem.
- Ensure your network drivers are up-to-date on your laptop.
