FLGAN 20V PD USB-C DC Converter Cable Instruction Manual

Model: FL065

1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the FLGAN 20V PD USB-C DC Converter Cable, Model FL065. This device is designed to convert a 20V Power Delivery (PD) USB-C input into a 24V DC output, enabling the use of compatible ResMed AirSense 11 and AirMini CPAP machines with various portable power sources such as power banks and power stations.

2. Safety Information

  • Input Voltage Requirement: Ensure your USB-C power source provides at least 20V and 60W. Using power supplies with lower voltage (e.g., 15V, 9V, 5V) or insufficient wattage may prevent the converter from functioning correctly or damage the connected devices.
  • Electrical Safety: Do not expose the converter cable to water, moisture, or extreme temperatures. Avoid disassembling or modifying the device.
  • Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation around the converter during operation to prevent overheating.
  • Medical Device: This converter is intended for use with medical devices. Always ensure proper connection and functionality before relying on it for critical applications. If you experience any issues, discontinue use and consult the troubleshooting section or contact support.

3. Setup Instructions

  1. Identify Components: The FLGAN converter cable has a USB-C input connector on one end and a specialized DC output connector for ResMed CPAP machines on the other end.
  2. Connect to Power Source: Plug the USB-C connector of the FLGAN converter cable into a compatible USB-C Power Delivery (PD) port on your power bank, power station, or wall charger. Ensure the power source meets the minimum requirement of 20V and 60W.
  3. Connect to CPAP Machine: Insert the specialized DC output connector into the power input port of your ResMed AirSense 11 or AirMini CPAP machine.
  4. Verify Connection: Once both ends are securely connected, the CPAP machine should power on or indicate a power connection.

Important Considerations:

  • Humidifier Use: Using a humidifier with your CPAP machine significantly increases power consumption. When operating from a portable power source, consider disabling the humidifier to extend battery life.
  • Power Bank Output: Some power banks have multiple USB-C ports with different power outputs. Ensure you use a port capable of delivering the required 20V and at least 60W.

7. Troubleshooting

  • CPAP Machine Not Powering On:
    • Check Power Source: Verify that your USB-C power bank or station provides at least 20V and 60W output. Many power banks have multiple USB-C ports; ensure you are using the correct one.
    • Cable Connection: Ensure both the USB-C and DC connectors are fully and securely plugged into their respective ports.
    • Power Bank Reset: Some power banks may require a reset or specific activation for high-power output. Refer to your power bank's manual.
  • "Low Voltage" Message on CPAP: This indicates that the CPAP machine is not receiving sufficient voltage. Double-check that your power source meets the 20V minimum requirement. The converter requires a stable 20V input to deliver the necessary 24V output.
  • Intermittent Power: If the CPAP machine powers on and off, or experiences interruptions, ensure the power source is not overloaded and can sustain the required wattage. Some power banks may shut down if the current draw fluctuates or exceeds their capacity.
