4. Setup

Follow these steps for initial setup of your SeeYing Turntable:

Step-by-step assembly guide for the turntable

Figure 4.1: Visual guide for turntable assembly.

  1. Install the Aluminum Platter: Carefully place the aluminum die-cast platter onto the central polished stainless steel spindle.
  2. Install the Drive Belt: Locate the red ribbon attached to the drive belt. Gently pull both ends of the red ribbon to stretch the belt around the motor pulley (small brass cylinder) and then around the inner rim of the platter. Remove the red ribbon once the belt is correctly positioned.
  3. Place the Slipmat: Lay the felt slipmat on top of the platter.
  4. Adjust the Counterweight: Slide the counterweight onto the rear of the tonearm. Rotate it carefully until the tonearm is balanced and floats horizontally. Then, adjust the tracking force according to your cartridge's specifications (typically 2.5-3.5 grams for the AT3600L stylus). The numbers on the counterweight indicate the tracking force.
  5. Install the Dust Cover: Insert the hinges of the dust cover into the slots at the rear of the turntable base.
  6. Connect Power: Plug the DC 12V power adapter into the DC In port on the rear of the turntable and then into a wall outlet.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Stylus

A clean stylus ensures optimal sound quality and prolongs record life. Use a soft brush designed for stylus cleaning, brushing gently from back to front (away from the cantilever).

6.2 Cleaning the Unit

Wipe the turntable's surface with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. For stubborn marks, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry one. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.

6.3 Dust Cover Care

Clean the dust cover with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could scratch the acrylic surface.

6.4 Stylus Replacement

The stylus has a limited lifespan and should be replaced periodically (typically after 300-500 hours of playback). Refer to the stylus manufacturer's instructions for replacement. The AT3600L stylus is detachable for easy replacement.
