5. Setup

5.1. Powering On the Router

  1. Connect the power adapter to the DC port on the router.

  3. Wait for the router's indicator lights to stabilize, indicating it is powered on and ready.

5.2. eSIM Activation (Recommended for 10GB Free Data)

The Zbtlink WE2805-B router includes a built-in digital eSIM with 10GB of free data upon activation. This method is recommended for initial setup.

  1. Ensure your router is powered on and connected to the internet (e.g., via wired broadband temporarily, or use a phone with internet access).
  2. Locate the QR code on the router or its packaging.
  3. Using a smartphone or tablet with internet access, scan the QR code. This will typically direct you to an activation portal or app.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to activate the built-in eSIM. Upon successful activation, 10GB of free data will be credited.

5.3. Physical SIM Card Installation (Optional)

If you prefer to use your own physical Nano SIM card, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure the router is powered off.
  2. If your SIM card is not a Nano SIM, use the provided Nano SIM adapter kit to convert it to the correct size.
  3. Carefully insert the Nano SIM card into the SIM slot on the router until it clicks into place. Ensure the correct orientation.
  4. Power on the router. The router will attempt to connect to the 4G LTE network.

5.4. Connecting to Wired Broadband (Optional)

The router can also function as a standard Wi-Fi router by connecting to an existing wired broadband connection.

  1. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to your broadband modem or wall jack.
  2. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the WAN port on the Zbtlink WE2805-B router.
  3. Ensure the router is powered on. It will automatically detect the wired connection.

6. Operating the Router

6.1. Connecting Devices to Wi-Fi

  1. On your device (smartphone, laptop, etc.), search for available Wi-Fi networks.
  2. Select the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) broadcast by your Zbtlink WE2805-B router. The default SSID and password are usually found on a sticker on the bottom of the router.
  3. Enter the Wi-Fi password when prompted.
  4. Once connected, your device should have internet access.

6.2. Managing eSIM Data

To monitor data usage and recharge your eSIM data, use the dedicated mobile application. The application can be accessed by scanning the QR code used for activation or by searching for the Zbtlink app in your device's app store.

6.3. Dynamic DNS (DDNS) Configuration

If you require remote access to devices on your network or host services, you can configure DDNS. Refer to the router's web interface for detailed DDNS settings. This feature ensures that your domain name remains linked to your router's dynamic IP address.

7. Maintenance

  • Regular Cleaning: Keep the router free from dust to ensure proper ventilation. Use a soft, dry cloth.
  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check the manufacturer's website for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Placement: Place the router in a central location, away from obstructions and other electronic devices that may cause interference.
  • Power Cycle: If you experience network issues, try power cycling the router by unplugging it for 10 seconds and then plugging it back in.

8. Troubleshooting

  • No Internet Connection:
    • Check if the router's indicator lights are normal.
    • Ensure the eSIM is activated or the physical SIM card is correctly inserted and has an active data plan.
    • If using wired broadband, verify the Ethernet cable connection and modem status.
    • Try restarting the router.
  • Weak Wi-Fi Signal:
    • Relocate the router to a more central position.
    • Ensure antennas are properly oriented.
    • Minimize interference from other electronic devices.
  • Cannot Access Router Settings:
    • Ensure your device is connected to the router's Wi-Fi or via an Ethernet cable.
