5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the scale.
2. Open the battery cover.
3. Insert 2x AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
4. Close the battery cover securely.

5.2 Initial Power On

Press the Power button (⑂) to turn on the scale. The display will show "8888" and then "0.00" with the current unit (e.g., kg), indicating it is ready for use.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off

• To Power On: Press the Power button (⑂).
• To Power Off: Press and hold the Power button (⑂) for 3 seconds, or the scale will automatically turn off after 60 seconds of inactivity.

6.2 Unit Conversion

With the scale powered on and displaying "0.00", press the UNIT button repeatedly to cycle through the available weighing units: kilograms (kg), pounds (lb), ounces (oz), and Newtons (N).

6.3 Weighing an Item

1. Ensure the scale is powered on and displaying "0.00".
2. Securely attach the item (e.g., luggage) to the hanging strap/hook.
3. Lift the scale by its handle, ensuring the item is suspended freely and not touching the ground.
4. Hold the scale steady. The display will show the weight, and once stable, the reading will automatically lock (indicated by a 'HOLD' or lock icon).
5. Record the weight. To weigh another item, press the Power button to clear the previous reading or turn off and on again.

6.4 Tare Function

The Tare function allows you to subtract the weight of a container or attachment, so you only measure the net weight of the contents.

1. Attach the empty container or accessory to the scale.
2. Lift the scale and wait for the weight to stabilize.
3. Press the Reset button. The display will reset to "0.00".
4. Place the items to be weighed into the container. The display will now show only the weight of the items.

6.5 Temperature Display

The scale can also display the ambient temperature. While the scale is on, press and hold the UNIT button for 3 seconds to switch between Celsius (℃) and Fahrenheit (℉).

7. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the scale with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse in water.
• Storage: Store the scale in a cool, dry place. If not used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
