1. Introduction

4. Setup

4.1 Connecting a 1 lb Propane Cylinder

  1. Ensure the heater's control knob is in the 'OFF' position.
  2. Locate the propane cylinder connection port on the side of the heater.
  3. Thread the 1 lb propane cylinder clockwise into the connection port until hand-tight. Do not overtighten.
  4. Check for leaks using a soapy water solution. Bubbles indicate a leak.

4.2 Connecting to a 20 lb Propane Tank (Outdoor Use Only)

For extended outdoor use, you can connect the heater to a 20 lb refillable propane tank using an optional extension hose (sold separately).

  1. Ensure the heater's control knob is in the 'OFF' position and the 1 lb cylinder (if attached) is removed.
  2. Connect one end of the extension hose to the heater's propane connection port.
  3. Connect the other end of the extension hose to the 20 lb propane tank.
  4. Slowly open the valve on the 20 lb propane tank.
  5. Check all connections for leaks using a soapy water solution.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Ignition Procedure

  1. Ensure the propane tank is securely connected and the gas supply is open.
  2. Turn the control knob to the 'PILOT' position.
  3. Press and hold the control knob down for 30-60 seconds to purge air from the gas lines and allow gas to reach the pilot.
  4. While still holding the knob down, press the Piezo igniter button repeatedly until the pilot flame ignites. You should see a small flame.
  5. Continue to hold the control knob down for another 30 seconds after the pilot ignites to allow the thermocouple to heat up.
  6. Slowly release the control knob. If the pilot flame extinguishes, repeat steps 2-5.

5.2 Adjusting Heat Settings

  1. Once the pilot flame is stable, turn the control knob counter-clockwise to the desired heat setting (Low or High).
  2. The ceramic burner will begin to glow red, indicating heat output.

5.3 Shutting Down the Heater

  1. Turn the control knob to the 'OFF' position.
  2. Close the valve on the propane tank.
  3. Allow the heater to cool completely before moving or storing.

6.1 Cleaning

  • Ensure the heater is completely cool and disconnected from the propane supply before cleaning.
  • Wipe exterior surfaces with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Keep the burner and control compartment clean and free of dust and debris.
  • Inspect the ceramic burner for any damage or blockages.

6.2 Storage

  • Disconnect the propane cylinder and store it in a well-ventilated area, away from the heater.
  • Store the heater in a dry, protected location, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
