5.7. Corded Operation
While primarily designed for cordless use, the iron can also be used with the power cord directly connected for continuous heating, if preferred. Simply attach the iron to the base and ensure the cord is plugged in.
6. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your iron.
- Cleaning the Soleplate: If the soleplate becomes dirty, clean it with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner. Do not use metal scouring pads or abrasive cleaners.
- SelfClean Function: Your iron is equipped with a SelfClean function to remove scale and impurities from the steam chamber.
- Fill the water tank to the MAX level.
- Set the steam control to "Dry" and the temperature to MAX.
- Once the iron reaches maximum temperature, unplug it.
- Hold the iron horizontally over a sink.
- Press and hold the SelfClean button (if available, otherwise use the steam shot button repeatedly while shaking the iron gently). Hot water and steam will be expelled from the soleplate, carrying impurities.
- Continue until the water tank is empty.
- Reheat the iron and iron an old cloth to dry the soleplate.
- Anti-Calc System: The integrated anti-calc system helps reduce limescale build-up. However, regular SelfClean is still recommended, especially in hard water areas.
- Emptying and Storage: After use, empty any remaining water from the tank. Allow the iron to cool completely before storing it upright on its base station or heel rest.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Iron not heating up. | Not plugged in; temperature dial set to MIN; iron not on base station (for cordless). | Check power connection; turn temperature dial to desired setting; ensure iron is correctly placed on the base. |
| No steam or insufficient steam. | Water tank empty; temperature too low; steam control set to "Dry"; calc build-up. | Fill water tank; set temperature higher (to steam range); set steam control to desired steam level; perform SelfClean. |
| Water dripping from soleplate. | Temperature too low for steam; water tank overfilled. | Increase temperature; do not overfill water tank. The anti-drip system should prevent this at correct temperatures. |
| White flakes coming from soleplate. | Limescale build-up. | Perform SelfClean function. Use distilled or demineralized water in hard water areas. |
