5. Setup

5.1 Powering the Device

The hPlay Gummy GC04B can be powered by either AC power or batteries.

AC Power Operation:

  1. Insert the included AC power cord into the AC IN jack on the back of the unit.
  2. Plug the other end of the AC power cord into a standard 100-240V AC, 50/60Hz wall outlet.

Battery Operation:

For portable use, the unit requires 6 x C-size (R14) dry batteries (not included). Alkaline batteries are recommended for optimal performance.

  1. Open the battery compartment cover located on the bottom of the unit.
  2. Insert 6 C-size batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5.2 Adjusting the FM Antenna

For optimal FM radio reception, extend and adjust the telescopic FM antenna located on the top of the unit. Reposition the antenna as needed to improve signal clarity.

6. Operating Instructions

  • POWER Button: Turns the unit ON/OFF.

6.2 CD Playback

  2. Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly until "CD" mode is selected on the LCD display.
  3. Open the CD compartment cover by gently lifting it.
  4. Place a CD (CD, CD-R/RW) onto the spindle with the label side facing up.
  5. Close the CD compartment cover firmly. The unit will read the disc and display the total number of tracks.
  6. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button (►▮▮) to start playback.
  7. Use the REWIND/FORWARD buttons (◀◀ / ►►) to skip tracks.
  8. Press the STOP button (■) to stop playback.

6.3 FM Radio Operation

  1. Press the POWER button to turn on the unit.
  2. Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly until "FM" mode is selected on the LCD display.
  3. Extend the FM antenna for better reception.
  4. To auto-scan and save stations: Press and hold the SCAN/M+ button. The radio will automatically scan and save available FM stations.
  5. To manually tune: Use the REWIND/FORWARD buttons (◀◀ / ►►) to fine-tune the frequency.
  6. To recall saved presets: Use the REP/RAND/PROG/M- button to cycle through saved stations.

6.4 Bluetooth Mode

  1. Press the POWER button to turn on the unit.

  3. Enable Bluetooth on your external device (smartphone, tablet, etc.) and search for available devices.
  4. Select "hPlay GC04B" from the list of devices to pair.

6.5 USB Playback

  1. Press the POWER button to turn on the unit.
  2. Insert a USB flash drive (FAT32 format, max 128GB) into the USB port on the front of the unit.
  3. Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly until "USB" mode is selected on the LCD display.
  4. The unit will automatically begin playing MP3 or WMA files from the USB drive.
  5. Use the PLAY/PAUSE (►▮▮), STOP (■), and REWIND/FORWARD (◀◀ / ►►) buttons to control playback.

6.6 AUX-in Playback

  1. Press the POWER button to turn on the unit.
  2. Connect one end of a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) to the AUX IN jack on the front of the unit.
  3. Connect the other end of the audio cable to the headphone jack or audio output of your external device (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player).
  4. Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly until "AUX" mode is selected on the LCD display.
  5. Control playback and volume directly from your external device.

6.7 Headphone Jack

For private listening, plug any standard 3.5mm headphones (not included) into the HEADPHONE jack on the front of the unit. The internal speakers will automatically mute when headphones are connected.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the unit. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • CD Lens Care: If the CD lens gets dirty, use a commercially available CD lens cleaner.
  • Storage: If the unit will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and store it in a cool, dry place.
