1. Introduction

3. Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your Nighthawk M6 Mobile Hotspot:

1. Insert SIM Card: Carefully slide an activated SIM card from your 5G internet service provider into the designated slot on the back of the hotspot.
2. Install Battery: Align the battery with the connectors and insert it into the back of the hotspot. Secure it with the battery cover.
3. Power On: Press and hold the power button on the top side of the hotspot until the screen illuminates.
4. Initial Configuration: Use the 2.4-inch LCD touchscreen to complete the initial setup. You can customize your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password directly from the device or via the NETGEAR Mobile app.

4. Connecting Devices

The Nighthawk M6 allows you to connect up to 32 devices simultaneously. To connect your laptop, tablet, smartphone, or other Wi-Fi enabled devices:

1. Find Wi-Fi Network: On your device, open the Wi-Fi settings and look for the Nighthawk M6's network name (SSID).
2. Enter Password: Select the network and enter the Wi-Fi password displayed on the hotspot's screen or found in the Quick Start Guide.
3. Connect via App: For advanced management, download the NETGEAR Mobile app. It allows you to customize Wi-Fi settings, monitor data usage, and manage connected devices.

5. Operating Your Hotspot

The Nighthawk M6 is designed for ease of use with its intuitive touchscreen interface and powerful features:

• LCD Touchscreen: The 2.4-inch color LCD touchscreen allows you to conveniently monitor data usage, view Wi-Fi name/password, check mobile signal strength, and manage device and network settings.
• Power Modes: The device offers different power modes to optimize performance or battery life. You can choose between balanced, performance, or best performance & range modes.
• In-Home Performance Mode: For extended Wi-Fi coverage up to 2,000 sq. ft. at home, remove the battery and connect the M6 to wall power using the AC adapter. This mode boosts Wi-Fi signal strength for a wider range.
• Long-lasting Battery: The included 5040mAh Lithium Ion battery provides up to 13 hours of usage on a single charge, making it ideal for travel and on-the-go connectivity.
• Wired Connectivity: The 1 Gigabit Ethernet port allows for a wired connection to a Wi-Fi router, mesh system, laptop, or other wired devices, offering fast and reliable internet access.

6. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Nighthawk M6:

• Software Updates: Regularly check for and install software updates via the device's settings menu or the NETGEAR Mobile app to ensure you have the latest features and security enhancements.
• Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures. If using the In-Home Performance mode for extended periods, consider removing the battery.
• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Avoid using liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Nighthawk M6, try the following:

• No Internet Connection: Ensure your SIM card is properly inserted and activated with your service provider. Check the signal strength on the device's screen. Try restarting the hotspot.
• Weak Signal: Move the hotspot to an area with better cellular reception. If consistently experiencing weak signals, consider connecting external 5G antennas (sold separately) to the TS-9 connectors on the device for improved reception.
• Device Not Connecting: Verify the Wi-Fi network name and password. Ensure the device is within the hotspot's Wi-Fi range. Restart both the hotspot and the device you are trying to connect.
• Slow Speeds: Check your data plan limits. Ensure no background applications are consuming excessive bandwidth. Try changing the power mode to 'Performance' or 'Best Performance & Range'.
