5. Setup Guide

5.1. Charging the Devices

  1. Transmitter: Connect the USB charging cable to the transmitter's USB port and a suitable USB power adapter (not included). The LED display will indicate charging status. A full charge takes approximately 4-5 hours.
  2. Receiver Collars: Connect the USB charging cable to each receiver collar's charging port. A full charge takes approximately 1-2 hours. The LED indicator will change when fully charged.

5.2. Attaching Contact Points and Fitting the Collar

  1. Select the appropriate length of contact points (short for short-haired dogs, long for long-haired dogs) and screw them securely onto the receiver collar.
  2. Thread the adjustable collar strap through the receiver unit.
  3. Place the collar around your dog's neck. Ensure the contact points are making direct contact with your dog's skin.
  4. Adjust the strap for a snug fit. You should be able to fit one or two fingers comfortably between the collar and your dog's neck. A loose collar will not deliver consistent corrections.

5.3. Transmitter Placement

For optimal performance of the wireless fence mode, the transmitter should be placed in a central, elevated location within the desired containment area. Avoid placing it near large metal objects, dense foliage, or other electronic devices that may interfere with the signal.

6. Operating Modes

The HEXIEDEN system features two primary operating modes: Wireless Fence Mode and Dog Training Mode.

6.1. Wireless Fence Mode

This mode creates a circular wireless boundary around the transmitter. When your dog approaches or crosses this boundary, the receiver collar will activate a warning tone, followed by vibration, and then static correction if the dog continues to move out of bounds.

  1. Activate Fence Mode: Turn on the transmitter. The LED digital display will show a "fence signal icon". If it's in training mode, press the 'M' button to switch to fence mode.
  2. Adjust Boundary Range: Use the '+' or '-' buttons to adjust the boundary radius from 1 to 16 steps.
    • Level 1: Approximately 16 meters (52 feet) radius
    • Level 2: Approximately 32 meters (105 feet) radius
    • ...
    • Level 16: Approximately 300 meters (984 feet) radius
  3. Testing the Boundary: Before placing the collar on your dog, walk the perimeter with the receiver collar in hand to confirm the boundary and correction zones. The collar will beep, vibrate, and then shock as you cross the set boundary.

Figure 6.1: Wireless Virtual Fence in Operation. This image illustrates the concept of a wireless virtual fence, allowing a dog freedom to play within a defined area. It also lists key features such as IP66 waterproof rating, 400mAh battery for the collar, 2500mAh battery for the transmitter, and adjustable warning intensity.

6.2. Dog Training Mode

This mode allows you to remotely train up to three dogs using sound, vibration, or static correction.

  1. Activate Training Mode: Press the 'M' button on the transmitter until the LED digital display shows "1", "2", or "3", corresponding to the receiver collars.
  2. Select Dog: Press the 'CH' button to cycle through "1", "2", and "3" to select the specific dog you wish to train.
  3. Adjust Intensity:
    • Sound: The sound key is a fixed level. Press the 'Sound' button to activate.
    • Vibration: Use the '+' or '-' buttons to adjust vibration intensity from 0 (no vibration) to 9. Press the 'Vibration' button to activate.
    • Static Correction: Use the '+' or '-' buttons to adjust static correction intensity from 0 (no shock) to 9. Press the 'Shock' button to activate.
  4. Important: Always start with the lowest effective intensity level for vibration and static correction. Observe your dog's reaction and increase only if necessary.

7. Maintenance and Care

  • Cleaning: Wipe the transmitter and receiver collars with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Water Resistance: The receiver collar is IP66 waterproof, meaning it is protected against powerful water jets and can withstand rain or splashes. However, it is not designed for prolonged submersion. Ensure the charging port cover is securely closed when not charging.
  • Battery Care: Recharge the devices regularly to maintain battery health. Avoid fully discharging the batteries frequently. If storing for a long period, charge them to about 50% every few months.
  • Contact Points: Periodically check the contact points for corrosion or damage. Clean them if necessary.
