5. Installation Instructions

Follow these steps to properly install your RANRAO Spring Door Latch:

  1. Prepare the Surface: Ensure the mounting surface on both the door/window and the frame is clean, dry, and flat.
  2. Position the Latch Body: Place the main body of the latch (the part with the spring bolt) on the door or window frame where you intend to install it. Ensure it is aligned correctly with the edge of the door/window.
  3. Mark Screw Holes (Latch Body): Using a pencil, mark the positions of the screw holes on the latch body onto the mounting surface.
  4. Attach Latch Body: Drill pilot holes if necessary (recommended for wood to prevent splitting). Secure the latch body using two of the provided screws.
  5. Position the Catch Plate: Close the door or window. Align the catch plate (the smaller component that receives the bolt) with the latch body so that the spring bolt can easily slide into it when engaged.
  6. Mark Screw Holes (Catch Plate): Mark the positions of the screw holes on the catch plate onto the door or window.
  7. Attach Catch Plate: Drill pilot holes if necessary. Secure the catch plate using the remaining two screws.
  8. Test Operation: Open and close the door/window and engage the latch to ensure smooth operation and secure locking. Adjust if necessary.
