Product Overview
The REPTIZOO Dimming Thermostat provides precise temperature control for reptile enclosures. Utilizing a smart PID heating mode, it incrementally adjusts power to heating devices, preventing sudden temperature fluctuations and extending the lifespan of heat bulbs. This thermostat is equipped with a highly accurate sensor to monitor real-time temperature and an LED digital screen for easy display of ambient and set temperatures.

Setup Instructions
- Placement: Place the thermostat unit in a dry, accessible location outside the enclosure.
- Sensor Installation: Carefully position the temperature probe inside the reptile enclosure at the desired monitoring point. Ensure the probe is not directly under the heat source or in standing water, unless specifically designed for submersible use. The probe is waterproof.
- Connect Heating Device: Plug your reptile's heat lamp or other compatible heating device (maximum 300W) into the thermostat's output socket.
- Power On: Plug the thermostat's power cord into a standard electrical outlet. The LED display will illuminate.
- Change Temperature Unit (Optional): To switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F), press and hold both the ▲ (Up) and ▼ (Down) buttons simultaneously for 2 seconds.

Operating Instructions
- Setting Temperature:
- Press and hold the SET button for 3 seconds to enter setting mode. The display will flash.
- Use the ▲ (Up) or ▼ (Down) buttons to adjust the desired temperature. The temperature range is 20°C to 50°C (68°F to 122°F).
- Press the SET button again to confirm the setting and exit setting mode.
- Querying Set Temperature:
- Briefly press the ▲ (Up) or ▼ (Down) button (without holding) to view the currently set temperature. The display will show the set value for a few seconds before returning to the current ambient temperature.
- PID Dimming Function: The thermostat uses a smart PID heating mode. Instead of simply turning the heater on and off, it gradually increases or decreases power to the heating device. This results in more stable temperatures and extends the life of your heat bulbs by avoiding constant on/off cycles.

Maintenance
- Sensor Care: Regularly check the temperature probe for any debris or damage. While the probe is waterproof, ensure it is clean for accurate readings. Avoid bending or kinking the probe cable excessively.
- Unit Cleaning: Wipe the thermostat unit with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.
- Cable Inspection: Periodically inspect all cables for signs of wear, fraying, or damage. Replace if necessary.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Temperature reading is inaccurate. | Probe is dirty, damaged, or improperly placed. | Clean the probe. Ensure it is securely placed away from direct heat or drafts. Check for physical damage to the probe or cable. |
| Heater not turning on/off as expected. | Incorrect temperature setting, power issue, or incompatible device. | Verify the set temperature. Check power connections. Ensure the heating device is compatible and within the 300W maximum load. DO NOT use with sunlamps. |
| Alarm flashes (HH or LL). | Temperature is outside the safe operating range (too high or too low). | Check the enclosure environment and heating device. Adjust settings or external factors to bring the temperature back within the desired range. |
