2. Product Overview

2.1 Features

• Total Energy Consumption Display: The LCD screen displays only the total energy consumption (kWh) of the connected circuit. It does not feature a backlight.
• Memory Function: The meter retains the total energy consumption value even after power interruption. It continues recording from the last saved value once power is restored. The total energy consumption value cannot be reset to zero after initial use.
• Accurate Measurement: Utilizes large-scale integrated circuits and SMT technology for precise and reliable electrical energy measurement. This helps in monitoring and recording circuit equipment energy consumption for cost calculation and energy saving.
• Low Power Consumption: The entire unit consumes less than 2W / 5VA. Approximately 1 kWh of power is consumed only after 500 hours of continuous operation, minimizing additional cost.

4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Mounting

The SS766N energy meter is designed for mounting on a standard 35mm DIN rail. Locate a suitable position within your distribution box or electrical panel.

1. Ensure the DIN rail is securely installed.
2. Align the meter's mounting clip with the DIN rail.
3. Press the meter firmly onto the rail until the clip engages and locks the meter in place.

4.2 Wiring Diagram

Follow the wiring diagram carefully. Incorrect wiring can damage the device or pose a safety risk. The meter requires connection to both the live (L) and neutral (N) wires of the power supply and the circuit to be monitored.

1. Identify the Live (L) and Neutral (N) terminals on the energy meter. These are typically labeled.
2. Connect the incoming Live (L) wire from the power source (e.g., circuit breaker) to the Live input terminal of the meter.
3. Connect the incoming Neutral (N) wire from the power source to the Neutral input terminal of the meter.
4. Connect the Live (L) output terminal of the meter to the Live wire of the electrical equipment/circuit you wish to monitor.
5. Connect the Neutral (N) output terminal of the meter to the Neutral wire of the electrical equipment/circuit you wish to monitor.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On

After successful installation and wiring, restore power to the circuit. The meter's LCD display will illuminate and begin showing the total accumulated energy consumption in kWh.

5.2 Reading the Display

The SS766N meter is designed to display only the total energy consumption in kilowatt-hours (kWh). There are no other parameters or modes to cycle through.

Important Note on Memory Function: The meter's total energy consumption value cannot be reset to zero after it has started recording. This feature ensures continuous and cumulative tracking of energy usage.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

To clean the meter, ensure power is disconnected. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or spray liquids directly onto the device.

6.2 Storage

If storing the device, keep it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure it is protected from physical damage.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Common Issues and Solutions

• No Display:
  • Check if power is supplied to the circuit and the meter.
  • Verify all wiring connections are secure and correct according to the diagram.
  • Ensure the circuit breaker is in the ON position.
• Incorrect Readings / No Energy Accumulation:
  • Double-check the wiring connections for Live (L) and Neutral (N) inputs and outputs.
  • Ensure the load connected to the meter is within its specified operating range (max 13000W).
  • Confirm the meter is correctly installed on the DIN rail and not loose.
• Meter is Hot:
  • This may indicate an overload. Immediately disconnect power and check the connected load. Ensure it does not exceed 13000W.
