1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the assembly, operation, and maintenance of your EMART 16"x16" Softbox Lighting Kit. 2. Package Contents

Verify that all items listed below are included in your package:

3. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to assemble your softbox lighting kit:

  1. Assemble the Light Stand:
    • Remove the bottom knob from the light stand.
    • Adjust the tripod base by spreading the legs for stability and tighten the knob.
    • Extend the light stand to your desired height (18 to 65 inches / 45cm-165cm) by loosening the plate buckles and sliding the sections. Securely tighten the buckles once the desired height is reached.

  2. Install the Softbox:
    • Mount the 16"x16" softbox onto the top of the light stand. Ensure it is securely fastened.
    • The softbox head can be adjusted up to 210 degrees to direct light as needed.

  3. Insert the LED Bulb:
    • Carefully screw the 85W LED bulb into the socket inside the softbox. It is recommended to wear the provided gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints or smudges on the bulb.

  4. Attach the Diffusion Cloth:
    • Attach the white diffusion cloth to the front of the softbox using the Velcro fasteners. Ensure the soft cloth is facing outward on the front side. This diffuses the light for a softer output.
  5. Cable Management:
    • Use the provided Velcro cable ties to secure the power cord along the light stand. This helps prevent tripping hazards and keeps your setup tidy. The power cord is 3 meters long for increased flexibility.

4. Operating Instructions

Your EMART Softbox Lighting Kit offers flexible control over light settings:

  1. Power On/Off:
    • Use the in-line switch on the power cord to turn the light on or off.
    • Alternatively, use the red power button on the remote control.
  2. Adjusting Brightness and Color Temperature:
    • The 85W LED bulb offers adjustable brightness and color temperature (3000K-6000K).
    • Use the provided remote control to adjust these settings. The remote has buttons for Warm (3000K), White (4500K), and Cold (6000K) light modes, as well as brightness adjustments (20%, 50%, 100%).
    • The remote control operates within a 7-meter (23-foot) range.

  3. Adjusting Softbox Angle:
    • The softbox head can be tilted up to 210 degrees. Loosen the adjustment knob on the light stand connection point, position the softbox to the desired angle, and then tighten the knob to secure it.

5. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your lighting kit:

  • Bulb Handling: Always wear the provided gloves when handling the LED bulb to prevent fingerprints, smudges, and potential burns if the bulb has been recently used.
  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe down the softbox and light stand. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: When not in use, disassemble the kit and store it in the provided carry bag to protect components from dust and damage.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your EMART Softbox Lighting Kit, consider the following:

  • Light Not Turning On: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet and the in-line switch is in the 'On' position. Check the LED bulb to ensure it is screwed in correctly.
  • Remote Control Not Working: Verify that the remote control has working batteries. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the LED bulb. The remote operates within a 7-meter range.
  • Unstable Light Stand: Ensure the tripod legs are fully spread and the base knob is securely tightened. The bottom rubber sleeves should be in contact with the floor for maximum stability.
