3. Product Overview

The MOKiN 15-in-1 Docking Station features a comprehensive array of ports designed to enhance your productivity and connectivity. Below is a detailed diagram of the ports and their functions.

Port Descriptions:

• 2 x DP Ports: DisplayPort outputs for connecting external monitors.
• 1 x HDMI Port: HDMI output for connecting external monitors.
• 2 x USB C 3.1 Ports: High-speed USB-C ports for data transfer (10Gbps).
• 1 x USB A 3.1 Port: High-speed USB-A port for data transfer (10Gbps).
• 2 x USB A 3.0 Ports: USB-A ports for data transfer (5Gbps).
• 1 x USB A 2.0 Port: USB-A port for connecting peripherals like keyboard/mouse (480Mbps).
• 1 x SD Slot: For SD card data transfer (up to 104 MB/s).

4. Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your MOKiN Docking Station:

1. Connect Power: Connect a compatible USB-C Power Delivery (PD) charger (not included) to the PD Charging Port on the docking station. This will power the docking station and can charge your connected laptop.
2. Connect to Laptop: Use the provided USB-C to USB-C cable to connect the "HOST" port on the docking station to a full-function USB-C port, Thunderbolt 3/4 port, or USB4 port on your laptop.

3. Connect External Monitors: Connect your external monitors to the HDMI and/or DisplayPort (DP) outputs on the docking station using appropriate cables.

4. Connect Peripherals: Connect your USB devices (keyboard, mouse, external drives), Ethernet cable, SD/Micro SD cards, and audio devices to the corresponding ports on the docking station.
5. Power On: Press the power button on the docking station if it does not automatically power on with the laptop connection.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Display Configuration

The docking station supports various display configurations depending on your operating system and laptop's capabilities (specifically DP 1.4 support).

• Single Monitor: Up to 8K@30Hz or 4K@120Hz.
• Dual Monitors: Up to 4K@60Hz.
• Triple Monitors: Up to 4K@60Hz and 4K@30Hz.

Windows System (with DP 1.4)

Windows systems generally support both Mirror Mode and Extend Mode for multiple displays.

• Mirror Mode (AAA): All connected monitors display the same content as your laptop screen.
• Extend Mode (ABB, ABC, ABCD): Each connected monitor can display different content, extending your desktop workspace.

Note: The resolution of mirrored displays under Windows will always be consistent with the laptop's resolution. For 8K display, ensure your host laptop and monitor support 8K display and DP 1.4 protocol.

macOS System (with DP 1.4)

macOS systems have specific limitations regarding extended displays with docking stations.

• Mirror Mode (AAA): All connected monitors display the same content as your laptop screen.
• Extend Mode (ABB, ABBB): macOS only supports Single Stream Transport (SST) mode for external monitors when using a docking station. This means all connected external monitors will display the same content, extending from your laptop's display. You cannot have independent extended displays (e.g., ABCD).

Note: This is a limitation of macOS and not a defect of the docking station.

5.2 Data Transfer

The docking station provides high-speed data transfer capabilities:

• USB-C 3.1 & USB-A 3.1: Up to 10Gbps for fast transfer of large files, hard disks, and SSDs.
• USB-A 3.0: Up to 5Gbps for flash drives and other USB 3.0 devices.
• USB-A 2.0: Up to 480Mbps, ideal for keyboards, mice, and other low-bandwidth peripherals.
• SD/Micro SD Card Slots: Up to 104 MB/s for efficient transfer of photos and videos from memory cards.

5.3 Network Connectivity

The integrated Gigabit Ethernet port provides a stable and fast wired network connection.

• 1000Mbps Ethernet: Enjoy high-speed internet for seamless streaming, gaming, and large file downloads.

5.4 Power Delivery (PD)

The PD charging port supports pass-through charging for your laptop.

• 100W Input: The docking station can receive up to 100W of power from a compatible USB-C PD charger.
• 87W Output: Approximately 87W of power is delivered to your connected laptop, as the docking station itself consumes about 13W for operation.

Note: Power adapter and power cord are not included. Power output (charging) is limited to 85W for safety. Only for devices with Type C PD charging ports that support the PD protocol.

5.5 Audio Connectivity

The 3.5mm audio and microphone jack allows you to connect headphones, speakers, or a microphone.

• 3.5mm Audio & Mic Jack: Provides immersive sound pleasure and microphone input for calls or recordings.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your MOKiN Docking Station, please follow these maintenance guidelines:

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the docking station. Avoid using liquid cleaners, aerosols, or abrasive solvents.
• Storage: Store the docking station in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• Handling: Handle the device with care. Avoid dropping it or subjecting it to strong impacts.
• Ventilation: Ensure proper ventilation around the docking station to prevent overheating. Do not block any ventilation openings.
• Cable Management: Avoid excessive bending or twisting of connected cables to prevent damage to the cables or ports.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your MOKiN Docking Station, please refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

7.1 Display Issues

• No Display/Flickering:
  • Ensure all display cables (HDMI, DisplayPort) are securely connected to both the docking station and the monitors.
  • Verify that the USB-C cable connecting the docking station to your laptop is fully inserted and connected to a full-function USB-C, Thunderbolt 3/4, or USB4 port.
  • Try restarting your laptop and reconnecting the docking station.
  • Check your laptop's display settings to ensure the external monitors are detected and configured correctly (e.g., extended or mirrored).
  • Test with different display cables or monitors if possible to rule out faulty accessories.
• Incorrect Resolution/Refresh Rate:
  • Ensure your monitors and laptop support the desired resolution and refresh rate.
  • Verify that your laptop's USB-C port supports DP 1.4 for higher resolutions (8K@30Hz, 4K@120Hz).
  • Adjust display settings in your operating system.
• macOS Multiple Monitor Limitation:
  • As noted in Section 5.1, macOS typically supports only Single Stream Transport (SST) mode for external monitors via docking stations. This means all external monitors will mirror each other, extending from the laptop's display. This is an operating system limitation, not a product defect.

7.2 Connectivity Issues

• USB Devices Not Recognized:
  • Ensure the docking station is powered on.
  • Try connecting the USB device to a different port on the docking station.
  • Reconnect the docking station to your laptop.
  • Ensure the device drivers are up to date on your laptop.
• No Ethernet Connection:
  • Check if the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the docking station and your router/modem.
  • Verify network settings on your laptop.
  • Try a different Ethernet cable.
• SD/Micro SD Card Not Reading:
  • Ensure the card is inserted correctly and fully into the slot.
  • Test with a different SD/Micro SD card.
  • Check your computer's file explorer to see if the card appears.

7.3 Power Delivery Issues

• Laptop Not Charging:
  • Ensure you are using a compatible USB-C PD charger (at least 100W recommended) connected to the PD port.
  • Verify that your laptop's USB-C port supports Power Delivery.
  • Check the power indicator light on the docking station (if available).
