1. Introduction
The Teltonika TRB500 is an industrial 5G gateway designed for high-speed cellular connectivity. It supports 5G technology, offering speeds up to 1 Gbps, and is backward compatible with 4G (LTE CAT 20) and 3G networks. This device features Gigabit Ethernet for reliable data throughput, SA & NSA architecture support, and ultra-low latency for critical applications. Its compact design makes it suitable for various industrial environments.

2.3. SIM Card Installation
- Locate the SIM holder on the front panel of the TRB500 (refer to Image 2.1).
- Using the provided SIM adapter kit if necessary, insert your active Nano-SIM card into the SIM slot. Ensure the SIM card is inserted correctly with the gold contacts facing down and the notched corner aligned.
- Push the SIM card until it clicks into place.
2.4. Antenna Connection
- Identify the four mobile antenna connectors on the back panel of the TRB500 (refer to Image 2.2).
- Attach the four provided mobile antennas to these connectors. Hand-tighten them securely.
- Position the antennas for optimal signal reception.
2.5. Power Connection
- Connect the 9 W PSU to the power socket on the front panel of the TRB500 (refer to Image 2.1).
- Plug the PSU into a suitable power outlet. The device will power on automatically.
2.6. Ethernet Connection (Optional)
- Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the LAN port on the front panel of the TRB500 (refer to Image 2.1).
- Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to your computer or network switch.
2.7. Initial Access
The default IP address for accessing the TRB500's web interface is 192.168.1.1. Ensure your computer's network settings are configured to obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP) or set a static IP address within the same subnet (e.g., 192.168.1.10).
3. Operating Instructions
3.1. Web Interface Access
- Open a web browser on a computer connected to the TRB500 via Ethernet.
- Enter the default IP address (192.168.1.1) into the browser's address bar and press Enter.
- You will be prompted for login credentials. Refer to the Quick Start Guide or the device label for default username and password. It is recommended to change these credentials upon first login for security.
3.2. LED Indicators
The TRB500 features several LED indicators on its front panel to provide status information:
- PWR LED: Indicates power status.
- 3G/4G/5G LEDs: Indicate the current cellular network technology in use.
- Signal Strength LEDs: Indicate the strength of the cellular signal. More illuminated LEDs mean a stronger signal.

3.3. Network Configuration
The TRB500 operates on RouterOS, providing extensive configuration options through its web interface. You can configure:
- Cellular settings (APN, band selection)
- Network modes (Router, Bridge)
- Firewall rules
- VPN services (e.g., OpenVPN)
- Input/Output (I/O) functionality
3.4. Remote Management System (RMS)
The TRB500 is compatible with the Teltonika Remote Management System (RMS). RMS allows for centralized monitoring, configuration, and management of multiple Teltonika devices from a single platform. This is particularly useful for large-scale deployments or remote installations.

4. Maintenance
4.1. Firmware Updates
Regular firmware updates are released to improve performance, add features, and address security vulnerabilities. It is recommended to keep your TRB500's firmware up to date. Firmware updates can typically be performed through the device's web interface. Always back up your device configuration before initiating a firmware update.
4.2. Scheduled Reboots
For optimal performance and to mitigate potential cellular network disconnections (which can occur with some data providers after extended periods), configuring a daily scheduled reboot is recommended. This can usually be set up within the device's system settings in the web interface, for example, at 03:00 AM daily.
5. Troubleshooting
5.1. No Internet Connectivity
- Check SIM Card: Ensure the SIM card is correctly inserted and active with a data plan.
- Antenna Connection: Verify all mobile antennas are securely connected and positioned for optimal signal.
- LED Indicators: Check the 3G/4G/5G and Signal Strength LEDs. If no network LED is lit or signal is weak, try repositioning the device or antennas.
- APN Settings: Confirm the correct Access Point Name (APN) is configured in the web interface for your cellular provider. The TRB500 supports Auto APN, but manual configuration may be required for some carriers.
- Carrier Compatibility: Some cellular networks may exhibit instability with certain devices. If issues persist, consult your cellular provider or Teltonika support.
5.2. Device Unresponsive / Cannot Access Web Interface
- Power Cycle: Disconnect and reconnect the power supply.
- Ethernet Connection: Ensure your computer is directly connected to the TRB500 via Ethernet and network settings are correct.
- Reset Button: If the device remains unresponsive, locate the reset button on the back panel (refer to Image 2.2). Use a thin object (e.g., a paperclip) to press and hold the button for approximately 10 seconds to restore factory default settings. Warning: This will erase all custom configurations.
