1. Introduction

The AODELAN TR-90 Digital Timer Remote is a wired controller designed to provide precise shutter control for compatible Sony cameras. 3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery-chamber cover on the back of the remote.
  2. Slide or open the cover.
  3. Insert two AAA 1.5V LR03 Alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery-chamber cover securely.

Note: Always use fresh batteries for optimal performance. Remove batteries if the remote will not be used for an extended period.

3.2 Connecting to Your Camera

  1. Ensure your camera is powered off.
  2. Locate the remote control terminal on your Sony camera.
  3. Connect the TR-90's cable connector firmly into the camera's remote control terminal.
  4. Power on your camera. The remote is now ready for use.

4. Operating Instructions

The TR-90 offers various shooting modes and timer functions. Press the ON/OFF button to power on the remote.

4.1 Basic Shutter Release

  • Autofocus: Half-press the Shutter-release button to activate autofocus.
  • Single Shooting: Fully press the Shutter-release button to take a single photo.
  • Continuous Shooting: Hold down the Shutter-release button for continuous shots (camera settings apply).
  • Bulb Shooting: Set your camera to BULB mode. Press and hold the Shutter-release button to open the shutter, and release it to close the shutter.

4.2 Digital Timer Functions

The TR-90 allows precise control over shooting parameters. Use the Selector button to navigate and the SET button to confirm.

To start the programmed sequence, press the TIMER START/STOP button. Press it again to stop.

5. Maintenance

  • Keep the remote control dry. Do not expose it to rain or moisture.
  • Clean the remote with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents.
  • Avoid dropping or subjecting the remote to strong impacts.
  • If not using the remote for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
  • Store the remote in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Remote not powering on:
    • Check if batteries are installed correctly with proper polarity.
    • Replace old batteries with new AAA alkaline batteries.
  • Remote not triggering camera:
    • Ensure the remote cable is securely connected to the camera's remote terminal.
    • Verify that the camera is powered on and in a compatible shooting mode.
    • Check camera settings to ensure external remote control is enabled if applicable.
  • Display is dim or unreadable:
    • Press the Illuminator button to activate the backlight.
    • Replace batteries if the display remains dim.
  • Unexpected behavior during timed shooting:
    • Review your DELAY, LONG, INTVL, and N settings on the remote.
    • Ensure camera settings (e.g., shutter speed, aperture) are appropriate for the desired outcome.
