Operating Instructions

1. Preparing Rice

  1. Measure Rice: Use the provided measuring cup to measure the desired amount of rice. The 1.5L capacity is suitable for up to 3 cups of uncooked rice.
  2. Wash Rice: Rinse the rice thoroughly under cold running water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch and ensures fluffier rice.
  3. Add Water: Place the washed rice into the inner pot. Add the appropriate amount of water. A common ratio is 1:1.25 (rice to water) for white rice, but adjust according to rice type and personal preference. The inner pot has water level markings for guidance.
  4. Place Inner Pot: Carefully place the inner pot into the main unit. Ensure it is seated correctly.
  5. Close Lid: Close the lid securely.

2. Starting the Cooking Process (Slap to Start)

The TOKIT rice cooker features an intuitive 'Slap to Start' function:

  1. With the lid closed and the rice and water inside, gently tap the top of the lid.

  • Congee: For preparing porridge or congee.
  • Warm: Automatically activates after cooking to keep food warm, or can be selected manually.

To cycle through functions or cancel a current operation, press the Menu/Cancel button located on the control panel. The corresponding indicator light will show the active function.

4. After Cooking

  • Once cooking is complete, the cooker will automatically switch to the Warm function. The 'Warm' indicator light will illuminate.
  • Allow the rice to rest for 5-10 minutes in the 'Warm' mode before serving. This allows the moisture to distribute evenly, resulting in better texture.
  • Open the lid carefully to avoid steam burns. Use the provided rice spoon to fluff and serve the rice.
  • Unplug the appliance from the power outlet when not in use.
