2. Safety Information

• Always disconnect the power supply before performing any maintenance, installation, or cleaning.
• This appliance is designed for indoor use only in aquariums. Do not use it for any other purpose.
• Ensure the voltage indicated on the label matches your local power supply before connecting.
• Do not operate the U-V lamp outside of water. Direct exposure to U-V light can be harmful to eyes and skin.

4. Setup Instructions

1. Unpack and Inspect: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect the U-V lamp and its shade for any damage. The red component inside the U-V lamp is for transport protection and can be removed or left in if not damaged. If the lamp or shade is damaged, contact customer support for a replacement before use.

2. Assemble Filter: Ensure the biochemical sponge is correctly placed inside the filter unit.
3. Attach Air Tube (Optional): If aeration is desired, connect the air tube to the designated port on the top of the filter unit. The airflow can be adjusted via the valve on the air tube.
4. Mount in Aquarium: Submerge the filter unit completely in the aquarium water. Use the suction cups on the side of the filter to securely attach it to the inner wall of the aquarium. Ensure the filter is placed in a location that allows for good water circulation. The filter is designed to operate effectively even at low water levels.

5. Operating Instructions

Initial Start-up:

Once plugged in, the pump will begin circulating water. The U-V lamp and pump operate separately.

U-V Lamp Timer Settings:

The control switch allows you to set the U-V lamp's operating duration. Press the power button on the control switch to cycle through the timer options: 3 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours, or 24 hours. The selected duration will be indicated by an illuminated LED. The U-V lamp will automatically turn off after the set time and repeat the cycle daily without manual adjustment.

Recommended Usage for Green Water:

• For initial green water clearing, operate the U-V lamp for 24 hours a day for the first 3-7 days.
• After the initial clearing, reduce the U-V lamp operation to 3-6 hours per day for maintenance.

Adjusting Airflow:

If the air tube is connected, you can adjust the amount of air bubbles by rotating the valve on the air tube. This allows you to customize the aeration level for your aquarium inhabitants.

1. Disconnect Power: Always unplug the filter from the power outlet before performing any maintenance.
2. Clean Biochemical Sponge: The biochemical sponge traps debris and waste. Remove the filter unit from the aquarium and gently rinse the sponge in old aquarium water (not tap water) to preserve beneficial bacteria. Replace the sponge if it is heavily degraded.

3. U-V Lamp Function and Sponge: For very dirty water or to maximize the U-V lamp's effectiveness in clearing green water, the biochemical sponge can be temporarily removed to allow the U-V lamp to have full contact with the water. The sponge is primarily for mechanical filtration.
