1.2 General Safety Precautions
- Never operate the chainsaw when fatigued, ill, or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Keep children, bystanders, and animals at least 50 feet (15 meters) away from the work area.
- Inspect the chainsaw before each use for loose parts, damage, or fuel leaks.
- Ensure the chain is sharp and properly tensioned.
- Always hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands.
- Be aware of kickback. Avoid cutting with the tip of the guide bar.
- Do not operate in poorly ventilated areas. Exhaust fumes are toxic.
- Store fuel in approved containers and in a well-ventilated area away from ignition sources.

3. Setup and Assembly
Before operating the chainsaw, proper assembly and fuel/oil preparation are essential.
3.1 Assembling the Guide Bar and Chain
- Place the chainsaw unit on a stable, flat surface.
- Remove the chain cover (if pre-installed) by loosening the two nuts.
- Carefully uncoil the saw chain. Ensure the cutting edges are facing the correct direction for cutting (usually indicated by an arrow on the chain or guide bar).
- Fit the chain around the drive sprocket and into the groove of the guide bar.
- Align the guide bar studs with the holes on the chainsaw body.
- Reinstall the chain cover, ensuring the chain tensioner pin engages with the hole in the guide bar.
- Lightly tighten the two nuts, allowing the guide bar to move freely for tension adjustment.
- Adjust the chain tension using the tensioning screw. The chain should be snug against the guide bar but still able to be pulled freely by hand. There should be no slack on the underside of the guide bar.
- Once tension is correct, fully tighten the two nuts to secure the guide bar and chain cover.

3.2 Fuel and Oil Preparation
This chainsaw requires a specific fuel mixture and separate chain lubrication oil.
3.2.1 Fuel Mixture (Gasoline and 2-Stroke Engine Oil)
- Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 90 or higher.
- Use only 2-stroke engine oil. Do not use 4-stroke engine oil or other types, as this can cause severe engine damage.
- The recommended mixing ratio is 25:1 (Gasoline : 2-Stroke Engine Oil).
- Use the provided fuel mixing bottle to accurately measure the gasoline and oil.
- Pour the measured gasoline into the mixing bottle first, then add the 2-stroke engine oil.
- Close the mixing bottle securely and shake it thoroughly to ensure a complete mixture.
- Carefully pour the mixed fuel into the chainsaw's fuel tank (marked with a gasoline pump icon).
3.2.2 Chain Lubrication Oil
- Fill the chain oil tank (marked with an oil drop icon) with appropriate chain lubricant oil.
- The chain oil tank volume is 260ml.
- Important: The chain lubrication system must be functioning correctly before operation. Ensure oil is spraying from the guide bar tip. Operating the chainsaw with a dry chain will cause rapid wear and damage to the chain and guide bar.

4. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps for safe and effective operation of your Eapmic gas chainsaw.
4.1 Starting the Chainsaw
- Place the chainsaw on a firm, flat surface. Ensure the guide bar and chain are clear of any obstructions.
- Engage the chain brake (if applicable, though this model features an automatic system, ensure it's in a safe position).
- Turn the start switch to the 'ON' position.
- Open the air door (choke) switch.
- Pull the starter cord several times until you hear the engine 'pop' or 'bang bang'. This indicates the engine is attempting to start.
- Close the air door (choke) switch.
- Press the throttle trigger and the safety lock-out button simultaneously.
- Pull the starter cord again firmly until the engine starts.
- Once the engine starts, allow it to warm up for a few moments at idle speed.
- Briefly blip the throttle to disengage the choke automatically.

4.2 Cutting Techniques
- Always maintain a firm grip with both hands on the chainsaw handles.
- Stand with your feet apart for good balance.
- Plan your cuts to avoid kickback. Never cut with the tip of the guide bar.
- Be aware of falling branches and logs. Clear your escape path before cutting.
- When cutting a log on the ground, cut approximately two-thirds of the way through from the top, then roll the log and finish the cut from the other side to prevent pinching the guide bar.
- For felling trees, always follow proper felling procedures, including making a notch cut and a felling cut, and ensuring a clear escape route.
4.3 Automatic Brake System
This chainsaw is equipped with an automatic brake system that is controlled by the engine throttle. It does not require a manual chain brake lever. The chain will stop when the throttle is released. Always ensure the chain stops completely before setting the chainsaw down or performing any adjustments.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your chainsaw.
5.1 Chain Lubrication Check
- Before each use, check the chain oil level. Refill as necessary.
- Ensure the automatic oiler is functioning by holding the chainsaw over a light-colored surface and revving the engine. A line of oil should be visible on the surface.
5.2 Chain Sharpening and Tension
- A sharp chain is crucial for safe and efficient cutting. Sharpen the chain regularly using the provided file or a suitable chain sharpener.
- Check chain tension frequently, especially during initial use. Adjust as described in Section 3.1. A loose chain can derail, and an overly tight chain can cause premature wear.
5.3 Air Filter Cleaning
- Periodically remove the air filter cover and clean the air filter element.
- Tap out loose debris or wash the filter with warm, soapy water if it's heavily soiled. Allow it to dry completely before reinstalling.
5.4 Spark Plug Inspection
- Inspect the spark plug periodically for wear, carbon buildup, or damage.
- Clean or replace the spark plug as needed to ensure reliable starting and engine performance.
5.5 General Cleaning and Storage
- After each use, clean the chainsaw thoroughly, removing sawdust, sap, and debris from the engine fins, guide bar, and chain.
- Always store the chainsaw with the guide bar cover installed.
- Drain the fuel tank if storing for extended periods (over 30 days) to prevent fuel degradation.
- Store the chainsaw in a dry, well-ventilated area, out of reach of children.
6. Troubleshooting
This section provides solutions to common issues you might encounter.
6.1 Engine Will Not Start
- No Fuel: Check fuel tank level. Ensure correct 25:1 fuel mixture.
- Incorrect Choke Position: Ensure choke is engaged for cold starts and disengaged after the engine 'pops'.
- Spark Plug Issue: Check spark plug for fouling or damage. Clean or replace if necessary.
- Flooded Engine: If the engine is flooded (too much fuel), remove the spark plug, pull the starter cord several times to clear excess fuel, then reinstall the plug and attempt to start with the choke off.
6.2 Chain Not Moving or Moving Slowly
- Chain Brake Engaged: Ensure the chain brake is disengaged.
- Incorrect Chain Tension: Adjust chain tension as described in Section 3.1.
- Lack of Chain Oil: Check chain oil reservoir. Ensure the oiler is functioning.
- Dull Chain: Sharpen or replace the chain.
- Obstruction: Check for debris or wood chips jamming the chain or sprocket.
6.3 Engine Lacks Power or Stalls
- Incorrect Fuel Mixture: Ensure the 25:1 gasoline/oil mixture is correct and fresh. Stale fuel can cause performance issues.
- Dirty Air Filter: Clean the air filter as described in Section 5.3.
- Spark Plug Issue: Inspect and clean or replace the spark plug.
- Carburetor Adjustment: If other steps fail, the carburetor may require adjustment by a qualified technician.
