Safety Information
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, observe the following:
- Installation work and electrical wiring must be done by qualified person(s) in accordance with all applicable codes and standards, including fire-rated construction.
- Sufficient air is needed for proper combustion and exhausting of gases through the flue (chimney) of fuel-burning equipment to prevent back-drafting.
- When cutting or drilling into wall or ceiling, do not damage electrical wiring and other hidden utilities.
- Ducted fans must always be vented to the outdoors.
- Never leave surface units unattended at high settings. Boilovers cause smoking and greasy spillovers that may ignite.
- Clean ventilating fans frequently. Grease should not be allowed to accumulate on fan or filter.

Installation
The Akicon Range Hood Insert is designed for built-in installation. Due to the complexity of electrical and ducting requirements, professional installation is highly recommended. Refer to the included Installation Manual for detailed step-by-step instructions, diagrams, and safety guidelines specific to your model. Ensure all local building codes and electrical regulations are followed.
Before installation, verify that all functions of the range hood are working correctly. This includes testing the fan speeds, LED lights, and control panel responsiveness.
Operating Instructions
The range hood features an intuitive push-button control panel for easy operation.
Control Panel Overview

Image: Detailed view of the control panel with buttons for power, fan speed, and lighting.
The control panel consists of four touch buttons: Power, Decrease Speed (-), Increase Speed (+), and Light. A numerical display in the center indicates the current fan speed or delayed shutdown time.
Fan Speed Adjustment
- Press the Power button to turn on the range hood. The display will show the current fan speed (e.g., '1' for the lowest speed).
- Use the '+' button to increase the fan speed. The range hood has 4 speeds, with a maximum airflow of 1200 CFM for 42-inch, 48-inch, 54-inch, and 60-inch models.
- Use the '-' button to decrease the fan speed.
Dimmable LED Lights
The range hood is equipped with energy-efficient LED lights. You can operate the lighting independently when the motor is off.
- Press the Light button to turn the LED lights on or off.
- To adjust the brightness, press and hold the Light button for 3 seconds. There are four brightness levels to choose from.
Delayed Automatic Shutdown
This feature allows the range hood to continue operating for a set period after cooking, then automatically shut off.
- While the motor is running, press and hold the '-' button for 3 seconds. The numerical display will begin to flash, indicating the delayed shutdown timer setting mode.
- Use the '+' or '-' buttons to adjust the delay time from 1 to 9 minutes.
- Once the desired time is set, the display will stop flashing after a few seconds, and the timer will begin counting down. The range hood will automatically turn off after the set time.
Cleaning Reminder Indicator

After approximately 30 hours of operation, the 'C' indicator light on the display will flash. This serves as a reminder to clean the grease filters.
To reset the cleaning reminder: In a non-operation status (motor off), press and hold the '+' button for more than 3 seconds to eliminate the flashes and reset the timer.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your range hood.
Cleaning Baffle Filters

The stainless steel baffle filters are designed for hassle-free cleaning. They are easily removable and dishwasher-safe. The double-groove design helps separate oil and water from cooking fumes, preventing drips.
- Remove the baffle filters by pulling the release latches.
- Place the filters in your dishwasher for cleaning, or wash them by hand with warm, soapy water.
- Ensure filters are completely dry before reinstalling.
- Clean filters regularly, especially when the 'C' indicator light flashes.
Exterior Cleaning
Wipe the exterior stainless steel surfaces with a clean cloth and a non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive pads that could scratch the finish.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your Akicon Range Hood Insert, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:
- Fan not operating: Check if the power cord is securely plugged in and if the circuit breaker has tripped. Ensure the power button on the control panel is pressed.
- Low suction: Verify that the baffle filters are clean and not clogged. Check for any obstructions in the ductwork. Ensure the fan speed is set appropriately for your cooking needs.
