It functions as both a transmitter (TX) to send audio from non-Bluetooth sources to Bluetooth headphones/speakers, and a receiver (RX) to stream audio from Bluetooth-enabled devices to wired speakers or car stereos. Please read this manual carefully to ensure proper use and optimal performance.

3. Product Overview

3.1 Device Layout and Controls

4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Device

  • A full charge takes approximately 3 hours.
  • The device can be used while charging.

4.2 Power On/Off

  • To Power On: Slide the power switch to the 'ON' position. The LED indicator will light up.
  • To Power Off: Slide the power switch to the 'OFF' position. The LED indicator will turn off.

4.3 Mode Selection (TX/RX)

Use the TX/RX mode switch on the side of the device to select the desired operating mode:

  • TX (Transmitter) Mode: To send audio from a non-Bluetooth device (e.g., TV, PC) to Bluetooth headphones or speakers.
  • RX (Receiver) Mode: To receive audio from a Bluetooth-enabled device (e.g., smartphone, tablet) and output it to wired speakers or a car stereo.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Transmitter (TX) Mode

In TX mode, the adapter transmits audio from a non-Bluetooth source to Bluetooth receiving devices.

  1. Set the mode switch to TX.
  2. Connect the adapter to your audio source (e.g., TV, PC, projector) using the appropriate cable (Optical, 3.5mm AUX, or RCA).
  3. Power on the adapter. The LED indicator will flash, indicating it's in pairing mode.
  4. Place your Bluetooth headphones or speaker into pairing mode.
  5. The adapter will automatically search for and connect to nearby Bluetooth devices. Once connected, the LED indicator will show a solid light.

5.2 Receiver (RX) Mode

In RX mode, the adapter receives audio from a Bluetooth-enabled device and outputs it to a wired audio system.

  1. Set the mode switch to RX.
  2. Connect the adapter to your wired audio system (e.g., speakers, car stereo) using the appropriate cable (3.5mm AUX or RCA).
  3. Power on the adapter. The LED indicator will flash, indicating it's in pairing mode.
  4. On your Bluetooth-enabled device (e.g., smartphone), search for Bluetooth devices and select "SONRU B50" to connect.
  5. Once connected, the LED indicator will show a solid light. You can now stream audio from your device to your wired audio system.

5.3 Pairing Devices

Single Device Pairing

Follow the steps above for TX or RX mode. The adapter will automatically enter pairing mode when powered on in the selected mode.

Dual Device Pairing

The SONRU B50 supports connecting to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously in both TX and RX modes.

  1. Connect the first device as described in the TX or RX mode instructions.
  2. Once the first device is successfully paired, press the pairing button on the adapter. The LED will flash again.
  3. Put the second Bluetooth device into pairing mode.
  4. The adapter will connect to the second device. Both devices will now be connected simultaneously.

5.4 LED Indicators

The LED display provides visual feedback on the device's status:

  • TX/RX: Indicates the current operating mode.
  • Pairing: Flashing light indicates pairing mode; solid light indicates successful connection.
  • OPT/AUX: Indicates the active audio input/output interface (Optical or 3.5mm AUX).
  • SBC/AAC/APTX/LL/HD: Indicates the active audio codec being used.

5.5 Button Functions

The adapter features intuitive controls for media playback and volume adjustment:

  • Play/Pause Button: Press to play or pause audio.
  • Volume Up/Next Track Button: Short press for next track; long press for volume up (RX mode only for volume control).
  • Volume Down/Previous Track Button: Short press for previous track; long press for volume down (RX mode only for volume control).
