4. Setup

Before first use, follow these steps to set up your induction cooktop.

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the cooktop from its packaging. Retain the packaging for future storage or transport.
  2. Placement: Place the cooktop on a dry, stable, flat, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is at least 10 cm (4 inches) of clear space around all sides of the cooktop for proper ventilation. Do not place it near heat sources or on metallic surfaces that could interfere with induction.
  3. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet's voltage matches the cooktop's requirements (220-240V for European models).
  4. Initial Cleaning: Wipe the glass surface with a soft, damp cloth before first use.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Compatible Cookware

The COOKTRON Induction Cooktop requires cookware with a magnetic base. Compatible materials include:

  • Cast Iron
  • Magnetic Stainless Steel
  • Enamelled Iron
  • Cookware with a magnetic base (test with a magnet)

Incompatible materials: Ceramic, Glass, Aluminum, Copper, or any non-magnetic cookware.

Ensure the cookware base diameter is between 12 cm (4.73 inches) and 26 cm (10.23 inches) for optimal performance.

5.2 Basic Operation

  1. Place compatible cookware with food on the center of the cooktop.
  2. Press the On/Off button to turn on the cooktop. The display will light up.
  3. The cooktop will default to Power mode. Use the '+' and '-' buttons to adjust the power level (from 200W to 2000W).
  4. To switch to Temperature mode, press the Function button. Use '+' and '-' to set the desired temperature.

5.3 Boost Function

Press the Booster button to instantly activate the maximum power (2000W) for rapid boiling or searing. This function is ideal when you need to heat quickly.

5.4 Timer Function

  1. While the cooktop is operating, press the Timer button.
  2. Use the '+' and '-' buttons to set the desired cooking time (up to 4 hours).
  3. The timer will count down, and the cooktop will automatically turn off when the set time expires.

5.5 Child Safety Lock

To activate the child safety lock, press and hold the Child Lock button (or the designated combination, refer to control panel icons) for a few seconds until the lock indicator appears. This will disable all control panel functions to prevent accidental operation. To deactivate, press and hold the button again until the indicator disappears.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your cooktop.

Cleaning the Cooktop:

  1. Always unplug the cooktop and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Wipe the glass surface with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent. For stubborn stains, use a non-abrasive cleaner specifically designed for glass cooktops.
  3. Dry the surface thoroughly with a clean, dry cloth to prevent water spots.
  4. Do not use abrasive pads, harsh chemicals, or steel wool, as these can scratch the glass surface.
  5. Clean the air vents regularly to prevent dust buildup, which can affect performance. Use a soft brush or vacuum cleaner.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your cooktop, refer to the following common problems and solutions.

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Cooktop does not turn on. Not plugged in; power outage; faulty outlet. Check power cord connection; check circuit breaker; try a different outlet.
Cookware not heating / Error code displayed. Incompatible cookware; cookware not centered; no cookware present. Use magnetic cookware; center cookware on the cooking zone; place cookware on the cooktop.
Loud fan noise during operation. Normal operation (cooling fan); obstructed air vents. A cooling fan operates during and after cooking. Ensure air vents are not blocked.
Cooktop turns off unexpectedly. Overheating protection activated; timer expired; power fluctuation. Allow cooktop to cool; check timer settings; ensure stable power supply.
