2. Safety Information

Control Buttons:

• Power Button (⑂): Turns the unit on/off.
• HOUR/TUNE-: Adjusts hour in time setting mode; tunes frequency down in radio mode.
• MIN/TUNE+: Adjusts minute in time setting mode; tunes frequency up in radio mode.
• AL1/VOL-: Sets Alarm 1; decreases volume.
• AL2/VOL+: Sets Alarm 2; increases volume.
• SET/PRE M+: Enters setting modes; saves/recalls radio presets.
• SNOOZE/DIMMER/SLEEP: Activates snooze; adjusts display brightness; sets sleep timer.

5. Setup

5.1 Connecting Power

1. Insert the small end of the AC power adapter into the DC IN jack on the back of the CR-430 unit.
2. Plug the other end of the AC power adapter into a standard wall outlet.
3. The unit will power on, and the display will illuminate.

5.2 Installing Backup Batteries (Optional)

To retain time and alarm settings during a power outage, install two AAA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment on the bottom of the unit. Ensure correct polarity (+/-) when inserting batteries.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Setting the Time

1. In standby mode (unit off, display showing time), press and hold the SET/PRE M+ button until the hour digits flash.
2. Press HOUR/TUNE- or MIN/TUNE+ to adjust the hour.
3. Press SET/PRE M+ again, and the minute digits will flash.
4. Press HOUR/TUNE- or MIN/TUNE+ to adjust the minute.
5. Press SET/PRE M+ once more to confirm and exit time setting mode.

6.2 Setting Alarms (AL1 and AL2)

The CR-430 features two independent alarms.

1. Press and hold AL1/VOL- (for Alarm 1) or AL2/VOL+ (for Alarm 2) until the alarm hour digits flash.
2. Press HOUR/TUNE- or MIN/TUNE+ to set the desired alarm hour.
3. Press the respective alarm button again (AL1/VOL- or AL2/VOL+), and the minute digits will flash.
4. Press HOUR/TUNE- or MIN/TUNE+ to set the desired alarm minute.
5. Press the respective alarm button again to select the alarm source: Buzzer (default) or FM Radio. An icon will appear on the display to indicate the selected alarm.
6. Press the respective alarm button once more to confirm and exit alarm setting mode.

6.3 Using the FM Radio

1. Press the Power button (⑂) to turn on the radio.
2. Press HOUR/TUNE- or MIN/TUNE+ repeatedly to manually tune the frequency.
3. Press and hold HOUR/TUNE- or MIN/TUNE+ for automatic scanning to the next available station.
4. Adjust volume using AL1/VOL- and AL2/VOL+.

Saving and Recalling Presets:

1. Tune to the desired station.
2. Press and hold SET/PRE M+ until 'P01' (or next available preset number) flashes on the display.
3. Press HOUR/TUNE- or MIN/TUNE+ to select the desired preset number (P01-P10).
4. Press SET/PRE M+ again to save the station to the selected preset.
5. To recall a preset, press SET/PRE M+ repeatedly in radio mode to cycle through saved stations.

6.4 Snooze Function

When an alarm sounds, press the large SNOOZE/DIMMER/SLEEP button to temporarily silence the alarm for approximately 9 minutes. The alarm will sound again after this period.

6.5 Sleep Function

The sleep timer allows the radio to play for a set duration before automatically turning off.

1. With the radio playing, press the SNOOZE/DIMMER/SLEEP button repeatedly to cycle through sleep timer options (e.g., 90, 60, 30, 15 minutes, OFF).
2. The display will show the selected sleep time. The radio will turn off automatically after the set time.

6.6 Display Dimmer

To adjust the brightness of the display:

• In standby mode, press the SNOOZE/DIMMER/SLEEP button to cycle through different brightness levels (High, Medium, Low, Off).

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents as they may damage the finish.

7.2 Battery Replacement

If backup batteries are installed and the time/settings are not retained during a power interruption, replace the AAA batteries in the compartment on the bottom of the unit. Dispose of old batteries responsibly.
