4. Tools Required (Not Included)
- Phillips Screwdriver
- Hammer
An electric drill may expedite certain steps, but a Phillips screwdriver and hammer are essential.
5. Assembly Instructions
Assembly typically takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. For certain steps, particularly when connecting the main desk sections, two people are recommended to ensure stability and proper alignment.
General Assembly Tips:
- Follow the numbered steps in your instruction manual carefully.
- Identify all parts and hardware before starting.
- Do not overtighten screws, as this can damage the engineered wood.
Drawer Slide Installation (Important Note):
Some users encounter issues with drawers not fitting properly. This is often due to incorrect screw placement for the drawer slides. The instructions on page 10 of the manual may lead to an issue where a screw prevents the drawer wheel from moving freely.
Correction: Ensure that the wheels on the drawer slides are positioned at the bottom and face inwards. The screw that secures the slide to the desk panel should be placed in a hole that allows the drawer wheel to pass without obstruction. If the screw head protrudes and interferes with the wheel, remove it and use an alternative hole further back on the slide, or a different screw from the provided hardware that sits flush. The goal is to have a completely smooth path for the drawer wheels.

6. Operating Instructions
Expandable Desktop:
The desktop surface can be expanded from 47 inches to 57 inches. To expand, gently pull the movable section of the desktop outwards until it reaches the desired length. To retract, push the movable section back into place. Ensure the movement is smooth and unhindered.

Storage Drawers:
The desk includes two pull-out storage drawers. To open, gently pull the handle. To close, push the drawer firmly until it is fully seated. If drawers are stiff, refer to the troubleshooting section.
Open Shelf:
The open-back bottom shelf provides additional storage for books, a small printer, or other office essentials. Ensure items placed on the shelf do not exceed its weight capacity.
7. Maintenance
To maintain the appearance and longevity of your Techni Mobili desk, wipe surfaces with a dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the laminated finish. Regularly check all fasteners for tightness and re-tighten if necessary.
8. Troubleshooting
Issue: Drawers are stiff or do not close properly.
Solution: This is a common issue related to the installation of the drawer slides. The instructions may suggest placing a screw in a position that obstructs the drawer wheel. To resolve this:
- Remove the drawer from the desk.
- Examine the drawer slides attached to the desk frame. Identify any screws that are not sitting flush or appear to be in the path of the drawer's wheels.
- Unscrew the problematic screw.
- Re-insert the screw into an alternative hole on the slide that allows the drawer wheel to move freely without obstruction. Ensure the screw head is flush with the slide.
- Test the drawer. If it still sticks, repeat the process, ensuring all screws are correctly placed and flush.
