5. Setup

5.1 Unpacking and Placement

Carefully remove the unit from its packaging.
Place the unit on a stable, flat surface, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and moisture.

5.2 Power Connection

Connect the provided power adapter to the DC 6V input on the rear of the unit.
Plug the power adapter into a standard wall outlet.

5.3 Antenna Connection

Extend the telescopic antenna on the rear of the unit for optimal DAB+ and FM radio reception. Adjust its position for the best signal.

5.4 Initial Power On

Press the VOLUME knob or the STANDBY button on the remote control to turn on the unit.
The display will light up. If it's the first time using the unit, it may automatically perform a DAB+ scan or prompt you to set the time.

6. Operating

6.1 Basic Operation

Power ON/OFF: Press the VOLUME knob or the STANDBY button on the remote.
Volume Adjustment: Rotate the VOLUME knob or use the VOLUME +/- buttons on the remote.
Source Selection: Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly or the MODE button on the remote to cycle through DAB, FM, CD, USB, Bluetooth, and AUX modes.

6.2 DAB+ Radio Operation

Select DAB mode using the FUNCTION/MODE button.
The unit will automatically scan for available DAB+ stations upon first use. To initiate a manual scan, press the SCAN button.
Rotate the TUNING/SKIP knob to browse through available stations. Press the knob to select a station.
To save a preset: Tune to the desired station, press and hold the PRESET button until the display shows "Preset Store". Rotate the TUNING/SKIP knob to select a preset number (1-10), then press the knob to confirm.
To recall a preset: Press the PRESET button, rotate the TUNING/SKIP knob to select the preset number, then press the knob to confirm.

6.3 FM Radio Operation

Select FM mode using the FUNCTION/MODE button.
Press the SCAN button to automatically scan and save available FM stations.
To manually tune, rotate the TUNING/SKIP knob.
Saving and recalling presets works similarly to DAB+ mode.

6.4 CD Player Operation

Gently lift the CD compartment lid on top of the unit.
Place a CD with the label side facing up onto the spindle.
Close the CD compartment lid.
Select CD mode using the FUNCTION/MODE button. The CD will begin playing automatically.
Use the Play/Pause, Skip Forward/Backward buttons on the remote or the TUNING/SKIP knob for control.

6.5 USB Playback

Insert a USB storage device (max. 32GB, formatted FAT32) containing MP3 files into the USB port on the front panel.
Select USB mode using the FUNCTION/MODE button.
The unit will automatically detect and begin playing MP3 files.
Use the playback controls on the remote or the TUNING/SKIP knob for navigation.

6.6 Bluetooth Streaming

Select Bluetooth mode using the FUNCTION/MODE button. The display will show "BT PAIRING".
On your smartphone or other Bluetooth device, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
Select "NR961" from the list of devices.
Once paired, the display will show "BT CONNECTED". You can now stream audio from your device to the stereo system.
Use your connected device or the remote control for playback.

6.7 AUX-IN Connection

Connect an external audio device (e.g., MP3 player, smartphone) to the AUX IN jack on the rear panel using a 3.5mm audio cable (not included).
Select AUX mode using the FUNCTION/MODE button.
Audio from the connected device will now play through the stereo system. Control playback from the external device.

6.8 Alarm and Sleep Timer

Alarm: Press the ALARM button to enter alarm setup. Follow the on-screen prompts to set the alarm time, source (Buzzer, DAB, FM), and volume. Press ENTER to confirm each setting.
Sleep Timer: Press the SLEEP button repeatedly to cycle through available sleep timer durations (e.g., 15, 30, 45, 60, 90 minutes, OFF). The unit will automatically turn off after the selected time.

6.9 Equalizer

The unit features an equalizer to adjust sound characteristics. Access it via the MENU button in certain modes or through dedicated settings if available. Refer to the on-screen menu for specific options like Flat, Classic, Rock, Pop, Jazz.

7. Maintenance

Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.
CD Care: Handle CDs by their edges. Keep them clean and free of scratches. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe CDs from the center outwards.
Storage: If not using the unit for an extended period, unplug it from the power outlet and store it in a cool, dry place.

8. Troubleshooting

No Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to the unit and the wall outlet. Try a different outlet.
No Sound: Check the volume level. Ensure the correct input source is selected. Check headphone connection if applicable.
Poor Radio Reception: Extend and adjust the telescopic antenna. Try moving the unit to a different location.
CD Not Playing: Ensure the CD is clean and inserted correctly (label side up). Try a different CD.
USB Not Playing: Ensure the USB device is formatted to FAT32 and contains MP3 files. Try a different USB device.
