Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:

  • Always place the humidifier on a firm, flat, level surface. A waterproof mat or pad is recommended for protection.
  • Always unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet immediately after using and before cleaning.
  • Do not place or store appliance where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.
  • Do not place in or drop into water or other liquid.
  • Do not reach for an appliance that has fallen into water. Unplug it immediately.
  • Do not operate under a blanket or pillow. Excessive heating can occur and cause fire, electrocution, or injury to persons.
  • Close supervision is necessary when this appliance is used by, on, or near children, invalids, or disabled persons.
  • Use this appliance only for its intended use as described in this manual. Do not use attachments not recommended by HoMedics.
  • Never operate this appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water. Return it to a HoMedics Service Center for examination and repair.
  • Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
  • Never use while sleeping or drowsy.
  • Never drop or insert any object into any opening.
  • Do not operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being administered.
  • This humidifier is for indoor use only.
  • Do not attempt to repair the appliance. There are no user-serviceable parts. For service, send to a HoMedics Service Center.
  • Do not use the UV-C light if it is damaged or broken.

Product Overview

The HoMedics Total Comfort UV-C Ultrasonic Humidifier provides a visible cool mist to enhance air quality in your home. It features UV-C technology to reduce bacteria, mold, and fungus in the mist, a top-fill tank, and adjustable settings.

Setup

1. Placement

  • Place the humidifier on a firm, flat, waterproof surface at least 12 inches (30 cm) away from walls and appliances.
  • Do not place on carpet or rug.
  • Ensure the mist outlet is not directed at furniture, walls, or electronics.

2. Filling the Water Tank

  1. Remove the top cover of the humidifier.
  2. Fill the water tank directly from the top opening with clean, cool tap water. Do not fill past the MAX fill line.
  3. Add 1 demineralization cartridge to the water tank to help reduce white dust, if desired.
  4. Replace the top cover securely.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

  • Plug the power cord into a 120V AC electrical outlet.
  • Press the Power button to turn the humidifier on. The UV-C light will activate automatically.
  • Press the Power button again to turn the humidifier off.

2. Mist Settings

  • Press the Mist button to cycle through 3 mist output levels: Low, Medium, and High.
  • Adjust the mist level to achieve your desired humidity.

3. Night Light

  • Press the Night Light button to turn the soft glow night light on or off.

4. Auto Shutoff

  • The humidifier will automatically shut off when the water tank is empty.

5. Aromatherapy Feature

  • Pull out the essential oil tray located on the side of the humidifier.
  • Add 5–7 drops of your favorite essential oil onto the included essential oil pad.
  • Slide the tray back into the humidifier. The aroma will diffuse into the air with the mist.
  • To change essential oils, remove the pad and replace it with a new one.

Maintenance

Regular cleaning is essential for optimal performance and to prevent the buildup of mineral deposits, bacteria, mold, and fungus.

1. Daily Maintenance

  • Empty any remaining water from the tank.
  • Rinse the water tank and top cover with clean water.
  • Allow all parts to air dry completely before reassembly or storage.

2. Weekly Cleaning (or when 'Clean' reminder illuminates)

  • Unplug the humidifier.
  • Remove the top cover and empty the water tank.
  • Cleaning the Ultrasonic Membrane: Gently wipe the ultrasonic membrane with a soft brush (included) or a cotton swab. Do not use harsh cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • Descaling the Water Tank: Fill the tank with 1 cup of white vinegar and let it soak for 20 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with warm water to remove mineral deposits.
  • Cleaning the Base: Wipe the inside of the base with a soft cloth dampened with white vinegar. Rinse thoroughly.
  • Allow all parts to air dry completely before reassembly.

3. Demineralization Cartridge Replacement

  • Replace the demineralization cartridge every 30–40 fillings, or when you notice an increase in white dust.
  • Remove the old cartridge and discard it. Insert a new cartridge into the designated slot in the water tank.
