Setup and Installation

The Buoan Keypad Door Knob Lock is designed for easy installation on most standard doors. A screwdriver is the only tool required.

Door Compatibility

This lock is suitable for various door thicknesses and can be installed on both left and right-handed doors.

Installation Steps

1. Prepare the Door: Ensure your door has standard boreholes (typically 2-1/8" or 54mm) and backset.
2. Install the Latch: Insert the latch mechanism into the door edge. Ensure the latch bolt faces the correct direction for your door swing.
3. Separate the Knobs: As shown in the diagram, unscrew the two long screws at the back of the interior knob to separate the front (keypad) and back (interior) knob assemblies.
4. Install Exterior Knob: Insert the exterior keypad knob through the door, ensuring the spindle aligns with the latch mechanism.
5. Install Interior Knob: Connect the interior knob assembly to the exterior knob, aligning the screw holes and spindle.
6. Connect Power: For the spring protruding part, please put the positive pole of the battery up. Plug the power cord into the power socket as shown.
7. Secure the Knobs: Fasten the two long screws to secure both knob assemblies together.
8. Install Strike Plate: Mount the strike plate on the door frame, aligning it with the latch bolt.

Operating Instructions

Unlocking Methods

Your Buoan Keypad Door Knob Lock offers two primary unlocking methods:

• Passcode Entry: Enter your programmed passcode on the keypad. The backlight illuminates when keys are pressed.
• Physical Key: Use the provided spare physical keys for manual unlocking. This is useful for emergencies or if batteries are depleted.

Automatic Locking

The lock features an automatic locking retractor. The door will automatically lock approximately 3 seconds after being opened. This function cannot be turned off.

Silent Mode

To activate or deactivate Silent Mode:

• Long press the "*" key for 5 seconds to enter Silent Mode.
• Long press the "*" key again for 5 seconds to cancel Silent Mode.

Passage Mode

If you do not require automatic locking, you can enable Passage Mode:

• After entering your master password and the beep stops, press "#" in quick succession to enable or disable Passage Mode.

Temporary Access / "In and Out Free"

You can provide temporary access to visitors by sharing a passcode. The passcode can be changed on the lock when you return home, offering convenience and security.

Maintenance

Battery Replacement

The lock will provide a low battery alert. Replace batteries immediately when this alert is active to ensure continuous operation. Use 1.5V AA alkaline batteries.

In case of complete battery depletion, the lock can be temporarily powered using the provided USB emergency power cable for unlocking.

Cleaning

Clean the lock's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.

Durability Features

The Buoan Keypad Door Knob Lock is constructed from zinc alloy for durability and features a special anti-slip handle design. It is also waterproof.
