Introduction

The X-Sense Wi-Fi Water Leak Detector (Model SWS54) is designed to provide real-time alerts for water leaks and floods in your home or business. This system includes multiple water detectors and a central base station that connects to your Wi-Fi network, ensuring you are notified promptly even when away from the property. Setup

Setting up your X-Sense Water Leak Detector system involves connecting the base station to your Wi-Fi network and pairing the sensors. Please note that the system is compatible only with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks (5.0 GHz is not supported).

1. Download the X-Sense Home Security App: Search for "X-Sense Home Security" in your smartphone's app store and install it.
2. Power On the Base Station: Connect the provided power adapter to the SBS50 Base Station and plug it into a power outlet. The base station will power on and indicate its status.
3. Connect to Wi-Fi: Follow the in-app instructions to connect your base station to your home's 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. This typically involves putting the base station into pairing mode and entering your Wi-Fi credentials through the app.
4. Pair Water Leak Sensors: Once the base station is connected, the app will guide you through pairing each SWS51 Water Leak Sensor. Ensure the sensors have their batteries installed (they come pre-installed).
5. Strategic Placement: Place the water leak sensors in areas prone to water leaks, such as under sinks, near water heaters, washing machines, dishwashers, or in basements. The sensors are designed to detect water at a minimum level of 0.015 inches (0.4 mm). Their mini size allows for easy placement in discreet locations.

Operating the System

The X-Sense Water Leak Detector system provides immediate alerts and allows for remote monitoring.

Real-Time Notifications and Alarms

When a water leak is detected by a sensor, both the water leak sensor and the base station will sound an alarm simultaneously at a volume of up to 110 dB. Concurrently, a push notification will be sent to your smartphone via the X-Sense Home Security App, alerting you instantly regardless of your location. The app also allows you to share device status with family members.

Muting Alarms

You can silence the alarm directly via the X-Sense Home Security App or by pushing the silence button on either the base station or the water leak sensor itself.

Sensor Sensitivity and Durability

Each water leak detector is equipped with 2 top sensor probes and 4 bottom sensor probes for comprehensive detection of leaks and floods. It can detect a minimum water level of 0.015 inches (0.4 mm), providing an early warning. The LED on the sensor will flash red upon detection.

With an IP66 waterproof rating, the sensors are designed for extended use in humid environments, making them ideal for placement near common household water sources. Their durable structure and rust-proof exterior coating ensure long-term reliability.

Battery Replacement

Each SWS51 Water Leak Sensor requires 2 AAA alkaline batteries. These batteries are designed to last approximately 3 years under normal use. The X-Sense Home Security App will provide a low battery warning when replacement is needed. To replace batteries, unscrew the three small screws on the back of the sensor, remove the cover, replace the batteries, and re-secure the cover.

Cleaning

Periodically wipe the sensors and base station with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and debris. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your X-Sense Water Leak Detector system, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

• No Notifications: Ensure your base station is connected to Wi-Fi and has a stable internet connection. Check your phone's notification settings for the X-Sense Home Security App to ensure alerts are enabled.
• Sensor Not Alarming: Verify that the sensor's batteries are not low or depleted. Perform a device test via the app or by pressing the test/silence button on the sensor. Ensure the sensor probes are clean and free from obstruction.
• Connectivity Issues: Confirm your Wi-Fi network is 2.4 GHz. If the base station loses connection, try restarting it and your Wi-Fi router. Ensure the base station is within range of your Wi-Fi signal.
• False Alarms: Check the sensor's placement to ensure it's not in an area prone to condensation or accidental splashes that could trigger it.
