2. Safety Information
- Always handle the meter with care. The measurement pins are sharp and can cause injury.

- Test Pins: High-sensitivity metal pins for penetrating materials to measure moisture.
- LCD Display: 2.25-inch screen with three-color backlight for clear readings. Displays moisture percentage, temperature, Max/Min values, and battery status.
- Power Button (U): Turns the device on or off.
- MAX/MIN Button: Toggles between maximum and minimum recorded moisture values.
- °C/°F Button: Selects the temperature unit (Celsius or Fahrenheit).
- H Button: Activates data hold function to freeze the current reading.
- M Button: Selects the material group (A-G) for measurement.

5. Setup
5.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
- Open the cover.
- Insert 3 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
5.2 Probe Replacement
The EWM02 comes with replaceable probes. If the probes become dull or damaged, they can be replaced using the provided mini wrench.

- Ensure the device is powered off.
- Carefully remove the protective cap from the pins.
- Use the mini wrench to unscrew the old probes.
- Insert the new probes and tighten them with the mini wrench. Do not overtighten.
- Replace the protective cap when not in use.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Power On/Off
- Press the U button to turn the meter on.
- Press and hold the U button for approximately 3 seconds to turn the meter off.
- The meter will automatically power off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery life.
6.2 Material Group Selection
The EWM02 features 7 calibrated scales (material groups A-G) for different types of wood and building materials. Press the M button to cycle through the material groups.

6.3 Taking Measurements
- Power on the device.
- Select the appropriate material group (A-G) by pressing the M button. Refer to Table 6.1 for guidance.
- Carefully press the test pins into the surface of the material to be measured. Ensure both pins penetrate the material.
- Read the moisture content percentage displayed on the LCD screen.
- Remove the pins from the material after measurement.

6.4 Data Hold Function
Press the H button to freeze the current reading on the display. Press it again to release the hold and resume live measurement.
6.5 Max/Min Measurement
Press the MAX/MIN button to display the maximum or minimum moisture value recorded during the current measurement session. Press repeatedly to cycle through Max, Min, and current readings.
6.6 Temperature Unit Selection
Press the °C/°F button to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature units.
6.7 Backlight Function
The LCD display features a three-color backlight (green, orange, red) to indicate moisture levels:

- Green: Indicates low moisture content.
- Orange: Indicates medium moisture content.
- Red: Indicates high moisture content.
7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning
Wipe the device with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the pins are clean and free of debris after each use.
7.2 Storage
When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. Store the meter in its protective carry bag in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
8. Troubleshooting
- No Display / Device Not Turning On:
- Check if batteries are installed correctly with correct polarity.
- Replace with new AAA batteries.
- Inaccurate Readings:
- Ensure the correct material group (A-G) is selected for the material being measured.
- Verify that the test pins are fully inserted into the material.
- Check if the pins are clean and not bent or damaged. Replace if necessary.
- Ensure the material surface is free from dust or contaminants.
- Low Battery Indicator:
- Replace all three AAA batteries immediately to ensure continued accurate operation.
