5. Installation
5.1 Mounting the Winch
The winch is designed for easy installation on most vehicles, including Jeeps, off-road trucks, and 4x4s. Ensure your mounting surface can support the winch's weight and pulling capacity.
- Verify the mounting bolt pattern on your vehicle's winch plate matches the winch: 10" x 4.5" (254mm x 114.3mm).
- Secure the winch using the provided mounting hardware: 4x G8, M10-1.50x30mm bolts for the winch, and 2x G8, M12-1.75x25mm bolts for the fairlead.
- Ensure all bolts are tightened to the manufacturer's recommended torque specifications.

5.2 Electrical Connections
Connect the winch to a 12V DC power source (vehicle battery) using the provided heavy-gauge power cables.
- Before connecting, ensure the vehicle battery is disconnected.
- Connect the red positive (+) cable from the winch to the positive (+) terminal of the battery.
- Connect the black negative (-) cable from the winch to the negative (-) terminal of the battery.
- Ensure all connections are clean, tight, and free from corrosion.
- Route cables away from hot or moving parts and secure them to prevent chafing or damage.

6. Operation
6.1 Free Spooling the Rope
To quickly unspool the synthetic rope, use the clutch lever:
- Locate the clutch lever on the side of the winch.
- Rotate the lever to the "Free Spool" position (usually indicated by an open gear icon).
- Manually pull the synthetic rope out to the desired length. Always leave at least five wraps of rope on the drum.
- Once the desired length is reached, rotate the clutch lever back to the "Engage" position (closed gear icon) before winching.

6.2 Winching with Remote Controls
The winch can be operated using either the wireless handheld remote or the corded remote control.
- Ensure the clutch is in the "Engage" position.
- Wireless Remote: Power on the wireless remote. Press the "IN" button to retract the rope or the "OUT" button to extend it. Maintain a safe distance from the winch and load.
- Corded Remote: Plug the corded remote into the designated port on the winch's control box. Press the "IN" button to retract the rope or the "OUT" button to extend it.
- Always observe the winching operation from a safe distance, ensuring no one is in the path of the rope or load.
- Use short, controlled pulls rather than continuous long pulls to manage heat and prevent damage.

7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your winch.
- Rope Inspection: Regularly inspect the synthetic rope for any signs of wear, fraying, cuts, or damage. Replace the rope immediately if any damage is found.
- Electrical Connections: Check all electrical connections for tightness and corrosion. Clean terminals as needed.
- Winch Housing: Keep the winch housing clean from dirt, mud, and debris. The IP68 rating protects against water and dust ingress, but regular cleaning is recommended.
- Lubrication: Consult a qualified technician for internal lubrication if necessary. Do not attempt to disassemble the winch without proper knowledge.
- Storage: If the winch is not permanently mounted, store it in a clean, dry place when not in use.

8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Winch does not operate | No power, loose connections, faulty remote, clutch disengaged. | Check battery connections, ensure battery is charged, verify remote battery/function, engage clutch. |
| Winch operates slowly or with reduced power | Low battery voltage, overloaded, motor overheating, poor electrical connections. | Check battery charge, reduce load, allow motor to cool, inspect and clean electrical connections. |
| Rope is tangled or unevenly spooled | Improper spooling under tension. | Carefully unspool the rope and re-spool it evenly under light tension. |
