1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your HOCANFLO 500W Macerating Upflush Toilet System. This system is designed for the renovation of small spaces, including basements, attics, and garages, allowing for the installation of a complete bathroom where traditional gravity drainage is not feasible. The powerful 500W macerator pump efficiently grinds and pumps waste, while the activated carbon deodorization function helps maintain an odor-free environment.
2. Safety Information
Please read all safety warnings and instructions carefully before installing or operating the unit. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury. Keep this manual for future reference.
- Ensure the power supply is disconnected before any installation or maintenance.
- The unit must be properly grounded.
- Do not dispose of foreign objects (e.g., sanitary products, wipes, excessive paper) into the toilet, as this can cause blockages and damage the macerator.
- Do not operate the pump if it is damaged or if any parts are missing.
- Only qualified personnel should perform electrical connections and complex plumbing.

5. Setup & Installation
The HOCANFLO macerating toilet system is designed for relatively easy installation without the need to break the floor for traditional piping. Follow these general guidelines:
- Placement: Position the macerator pump unit near the toilet and other sanitary devices you intend to connect.
- Connections: The pump features 4 water inlets, allowing connection to a toilet, sink, urinal, hand basin, or bath. Ensure all connections are secure and watertight using the provided clamps.
- Drainage: The pump can discharge waste up to 328 ft horizontally or 29.5 ft vertically. Ensure the drainage pipe has a slight slope (2%-3%) for optimal flow if running horizontally.
- Electrical: Connect the pump to a suitable power outlet. The pump operates automatically based on water level detection.

Connection Options
The macerator pump offers flexible connection plans to suit various bathroom setups:
- Plan A: Connect toilet, shower, and sink or washing machine simultaneously.
- Plan B: Connect shower and sink or washing machine. If the toilet connection is not needed, a special lid is provided to seal the water inlet.
- Plan C: Connect only a shower or washing machine. Unused inlets should be plugged with the provided lids.

6. Operating Instructions
The HOCANFLO macerating toilet system operates automatically:
- Flushing: When the toilet is flushed, the water pressure activates the internal water level switch.
- Maceration: The 500W macerator pump then automatically activates, grinding human waste into a fine slurry using its stainless steel non-clog blades. This process is designed for low noise operation.
- Pumping: The slurry is then pumped through the drainage pipes to the septic tank or main sewer line.
- Deodorization: The system incorporates an activated carbon filter to neutralize odors, ensuring the bathroom remains odor-free.

7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your macerating toilet system.
- Cleaning: Clean the toilet bowl and exterior regularly with non-abrasive cleaners. Avoid harsh chemicals that could damage the internal components.
- Activated Carbon Filter: The macerator pump uses an activated carbon filter for deodorization. This filter should be checked periodically and replaced as needed to maintain optimal odor control.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect all pipe connections for leaks and ensure the pump unit is free from obstructions.

8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your HOCANFLO Macerating Upflush Toilet System, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:
- No Power: Check the electrical connection and ensure the circuit breaker has not tripped.
- Pump Not Activating: Verify that the water level switch is functioning correctly. Ensure no blockages are preventing water from reaching the switch.
- Unusual Noises: This could indicate a foreign object in the macerator blades. Disconnect power immediately and inspect the pump (refer to safety guidelines).
- Leaks: Check all pipe connections and clamps for tightness. Ensure seals are properly seated.
- Odors: Replace the activated carbon filter if odors persist. Ensure proper ventilation in the bathroom.
