Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your ZeroWater dispenser for first-time use.

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging: the glass dispenser, the upper reservoir, the 5-stage filter, the lid, and the TDS meter.
  2. Wash and Rinse: Wash the glass dispenser, upper reservoir, and lid with warm water and a mild dish soap. Rinse thoroughly to remove any soap residue. Do not wash the filter with soap.
  3. Prepare the Filter: Remove the filter from its protective packaging. Rinse the outside of the filter shell under running tap water for approximately 30 seconds.
  4. Install the Filter: Place the upper reservoir into the glass dispenser. Insert the 5-stage filter into the designated opening in the bottom of the upper reservoir. Twist the filter clockwise until it is securely locked into position.
  5. Attach the Lid: Place the lid securely on top of the upper reservoir.
  6. Fill with Water: Slide open the fill port on the lid and fill the upper reservoir with cool or room temperature tap water. Allow the water to filter through to the main dispenser. The Ready-Pour feature allows you to dispense water even while the reservoir is still filtering.
  7. Activate TDS Meter: Remove the plastic tab from the battery compartment of the included TDS meter to activate it. Insert the TDS meter into the designated dock on the side of the dispenser.

Operating Instructions

Using your ZeroWater dispenser is simple and convenient.

  1. Dispensing Water: To dispense filtered water, simply push the spigot lever located at the front of the dispenser. Release the lever to stop the flow of water.
  2. Monitoring Water Quality with TDS Meter: The included TDS meter measures the total dissolved solids in parts per million (PPM). A reading of 000 PPM indicates pure-tasting water. Regularly check the TDS level of your filtered water.
  3. Refilling the Dispenser: When the water level in the upper reservoir is low, slide open the fill port on the lid and add more cool tap water. The dispenser is designed to allow continuous use even during the filtration process.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your ZeroWater dispenser.

Filter Replacement:

The 5-stage filter needs to be replaced when the TDS meter reads 006 PPM or higher. This indicates that the filter media is exhausted and can no longer effectively remove dissolved solids.

  1. Remove Old Filter: Empty any remaining water from the upper reservoir. Twist the old filter counter-clockwise to remove it from the reservoir. Discard the used filter.
  2. Install New Filter: Follow steps 3 and 4 from the "Setup Instructions" to prepare and install a new ZeroWater 5-stage filter.
  3. Test New Filter: After filling the dispenser with water, use the TDS meter to confirm a 000 PPM reading.

Cleaning the Dispenser:

Regularly clean the glass dispenser, upper reservoir, and lid with warm water and mild dish soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could scratch the surfaces. Ensure all parts are thoroughly rinsed before reassembly.

Troubleshooting

Here are some common issues and their solutions:

  • Slow Filtration: If water is filtering slowly, the filter may be nearing the end of its life or may be clogged. Check the TDS reading. If it's above 000 PPM, replace the filter. Ensure the filter is securely twisted into place.
  • Unusual Taste/Odor: An unusual taste or odor in the filtered water typically indicates that the filter needs to be replaced. Check the TDS reading.
  • TDS Meter Not Reading 000 PPM: If your new filter is not reading 000 PPM, ensure the filter is properly installed and twisted tightly. If the issue persists, contact ZeroWater customer support.
  • Leaking Spigot: Ensure the spigot is properly tightened. If it continues to leak, check for any cracks or damage to the spigot or dispenser.
