4. Setup and Installation

Important: Before beginning installation, ensure the power to the circuit is turned off at the circuit breaker to prevent electrical shock.

  1. Prepare the Light Fixture: Rotate and remove the plastic mounting bracket from the back of the light fixture.
  2. Mount the Bracket: Use the provided screws to attach the mounting bracket to your existing junction box. The screw hole distance of the junction box should be between 2.75"-3.7".
  3. Connect Wiring: Connect the power cord wires to the light fixture wires. Typically, black is live, white is neutral, and green is ground. Use the included wire nuts to secure connections. The fixture includes a securing cable to temporarily hold the light while wiring.
  4. Attach the Light Fixture: Push the light fixture onto the mounted bracket, aligning the tabs, and rotate it clockwise to lock it into place.

5. Operating Modes and Settings

Motion Sensor Modes

The light fixture offers three operating modes, selectable via a slide switch located next to the motion sensor:

  • AUTO (Motion and Light Sensor): The light activates only when motion is detected in a dark environment. It will not turn on during daylight hours.
  • ON (Constant Light): The light remains continuously on, regardless of motion or ambient light conditions, as long as power is supplied.
  • G (Only Motion Sensor Mode): The light activates when motion is detected, functioning in both dark and daylight conditions.

Hold Time Settings

The light can be configured to stay on for a specific duration after motion is no longer detected. Use the slide switch next to the motion sensor to select from:

  • 30 seconds
  • 120 seconds
  • 180 seconds

Color Temperature Selection

Before installation, select your preferred color temperature using the toggle switch located inside the light fixture:

  • 3000K (Warm White): Provides a soft, yellowish light.
  • 4000K (Neutral White): Offers a balanced, natural white light.
  • 5000K (Cool White): Delivers a bright, bluish-white light.

6. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your BLNAN Motion Sensor LED Ceiling Light, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Disconnect power before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface of the light fixture. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that may damage the finish or electrical components.
  • Inspection: Periodically check the wiring connections for any signs of wear or damage. Ensure the fixture is securely mounted.
  • LED Longevity: The integrated LED light source is designed for long-term use (30,000 hours) and does not require bulb replacement.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your BLNAN Motion Sensor LED Ceiling Light, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Light Not Turning On:
    • Check if the circuit breaker is on.
    • Verify all wire connections are secure and correct (Live, Neutral, Ground).
    • Ensure the motion sensor mode is set correctly (AUTO for dark environments, G for all-day motion detection).
  • Light Stays On Continuously:
    • Check if the mode switch is set to 'ON'. If so, switch to 'AUTO' or 'G'.
    • Ensure there is no continuous motion within the detection range.
  • Light Turns On/Off Randomly:
    • Check for environmental factors like drafts, moving curtains, or small pets that might trigger the motion sensor.
    • Ensure the light is not installed near heat sources or in areas with significant temperature fluctuations.
  • Motion Sensor Not Detecting:
    • Verify the detection angle (120°) and range (10ft-semidiameter) are suitable for the installation location.
    • Ensure the sensor is not obstructed.
    • Check the ambient light level if in 'AUTO' mode; the sensor will not activate if the area is already bright.
